Have you run speaker-test before logging into mate and after logging
into mate? If so did results differ?

Subject: No sound after login on mate desktop.
Hi!
I use Debian Stretch here with mate desktop.
Maybe i?ve didn?t install things correctly but when i am prompted for login i
hear the speech asking me to enter my name and password.
When i am logged in i don?t hear any speech or any sound at all.
I have gone through all settings in regards to sound and everything seems to be
set as it should.
I use a built-in realtech soundcard and i am not sure if this is the problem or
if there is no drivers installed for this card or what.
Any hints on what to do?
