Another reason to avoid contracted braille is if you are asked to code
some application where spacing must line up exactly contracted braille
will distort your spacing where computer braille will distort far less.

I'm still learning braille just for this purpose. I have an old Pac Mate 40

As I'm still working on grade 1 US, can anyone suggests what output format works better?
I assume "computer braille" but I am wondering if contracted braille would help
with the longer lines of code... Any tips on how to develop better braille skills would
be appreciated too as I'm self-teaching.

I use braille exclusively (or try to anyway) on linux and windows. I use
either an 40 or 80 cell one line display depending on desk space. Yes they are
expensive but for code I find them indispensible. Especially if you are
working with code that uses lots of short names.

Hi guys I was wondering if anyone on here reads code in braille? If so do you
read it line by line or are you able to read multiple lines at once? And what
displays do you use for reading code?
