Renee,
Funny you should mention Gatlinburg, as me and my girlfriend have just made plans to get married in Pigeon Forge in July. The railroad, as always, has been keeping me awful busy, so I don't play much at all anymore. I do however get sick from time to time, lol. I'm hoping to at least get to Kentucky a couple days before Christmas to exchange gifts with my folks.
It's been a long time since ive been to the Kentuckians, I really never get the time anymore since I ussually never have a weekend off. I'd like to get back sometime. Just don't think it would be the same since my good buddy Eddie Boggs gave up his position out there.
Renee, what is the name of your group? I'm sure weve had to have crossed paths before?
Bye for now,
Willie

Looks like Nathan has 3 strings missing from his mandolin.
* There you are Willie. I never did find out how your trip south was (shhhh.... when the R.R. thought you were "sick". hehe). We just got back from Gatlinburg.... verrrry pretty..... as long as you avoid the tourist traps. :o) We just stayed nuzzled in the cabin until it was time to go play (sing in my case). We had fun. I can never get enough of Cades Cove. They almost couldn't pull me out of the old Primitive Baptist Church. I just sat there and imagined all the meetings and amazing harmonies on the "a cappella sangin's" that must have taken place in there. It makes me sad though to see how peasants carve the pews up with initials. grrrr.
Anyway, have you been to the Kentuckians recently?? They tried to book us for January... but we're all booked up until mid-February, so we're trying to bind schedules together when they have "Bluegrass Gospel Nights". Maybe you'd be interested in joining in the jam for the fun of it.... hope you've wiped the dust off your "five string". :o) The way we see it.... you can never have too many musicians having fun.
Merry Christmas buddy, Your "Northern / Southern" friend, Renee' Stanley-Scheffler [EMAIL PROTECTED]
