Subject: BG: Rainbow Quest on DVD?
Great news!!!...The edition of Railbow Quest featuring the Stanley Brothers
(and Doc Watson) is finally available!!! (well, on March 8th at least! :P).
I remember we had talked about it the last time we met, and i've been
looking for it ever since! The wait is over!! i've found it on
www.amazon.com and its not even expensive!! enjoy! :)
Hello Matt,
Are you talking about a DVD release of this material? Because Rainbow Quest has been
available for as long as I can remember on VHS. I first got a copy of a few shows from
a friend of mine here in Tokyo--and he mailordered it from a place in the States. That
was in the late 90's.
However if these are cleaned up prints on DVD--now that's noteworthy. There are bound
to be extras in there.
That show is notable too, because Seeger was considered quite politically left at the
time--and being on his show could be seen as cozying up to his anti-war sentiments.
Remember, he had just recently been put out of business by Tailgunner Joe--him and The
Weavers, ratted out as communists by Burle Ives. Hm!
Jonathan
