Vern Williams was the man. You can say he's the west coast equivalent of Joe Val. Rick Shubb & Herb Pedersen got their start playing with Vern & Ray. They recorded a 4 song 45rpm EP for Starday in 1961 (SEP 175) under the name Carroll County Country Boys, & there's an album of theirs from the '70's kicking around called ³Sounds From the Ozarks² on Old Homestead (OHW - 10001). Here's a great article on 'em: http://www.cbaontheweb.org/VernRayC.htm & another link with a photo & a couple of Mp3's from one of their reunions: http://members.cruzio.com/~dbaker/multimedia.htm bw ****************************************************************** BUDDY WOODWARD - [EMAIL PROTECTED] - - - - - - BUDDY WOODWARD & THE NITRO EXPRESS http://www.buddywoodward.net - - - - - - THE DIXIE BEE LINERS - bluegrass with a buzz http://www.dixiebeeliners.com ****************************************************************** Bluegrass Bulletin Board brought to you by the fan club of Dr Ralph Stanley & His Clinch Mountain Boys subscribe or unsubscribe at http://drralphstanley.com/
