Dear Renee':

Thanks so much for asking. I'd tried to keep this "under the wire" but now my
daughter knows and it was to spare LaNeal & the Yum Yums (her kids, my 2
grandbabies) that I hadn't said anything at all. But LaNeal knows now & so
it's not a secret. I had the biopsy yesterday, my doctor took off the growth
from my leg. It was just a little moley-looking thing that grew pretty
quickly, had an irregular border, & was several colors. I tried to ignore it
for a while & then I realized that whether I want to acknowledge it or not, I
have a husband & daughter & family to whom I owe staying well & I decided to
have it seen about.

My doc said IF the biopsy comes back okay we'll let this puppy die right here.
IF it comes back malignant-which I naturally fear & suspect it will-I'll have
to have a surgeon excise more of my leg. I used my hubby's PDR & his online
medical research facilities to look at similar growths & their medical stages &
classifications & then compared them to the one I had & I somehow feel in my
bones that this is malignant. BUT-it's been caught VERY early, and is VERY
curable at this stage. What is frightening is that Mamma had a very
similar-sized & shaped growth about 3 years BEFORE her pancreatic cancer
surfaced at Stage IV & took her out in 3 months. I have follow-up next
Tuesday, 12/6/2005 & will know exactly what this is & what is required to treat
it then. They're sending it to 2 places for biopsy & analysis & my doctor says
we'll know MORE about it that way than we probably want to know. I stay in
contact with the Guy upstairs most days, & I've taken your good advice to heart
& asked Him to SHOW me what this experience is meant to teach me & promised him
I'm ready for whatever HE has in store for me & that I'll learn whatever it is
that He's trying to teach me from this.

Thanks for the GREAT advice! I'm following it to the letter! It's cozy inside
now & I can study most days since it's quiet & I have to have my leg up anyway.
IF I miss a few days writing here, it doesn't mean I'm not reading everything
on the website. I try to look at it all every other day or so at least, but
don't get to write all the time as often as I'd like. I'm here, though, always
interested. You're a ray of sunshine in a cloudy world, gal!

Keep loving bluegrass & mountain music, it's the very best music in the world!

Cordially your friend,

Doris.

" "
" " "& can somebody tell me what is a "Digest"
" " please?"
" "
" " * A digest is where you can get the groups
" " mail in one daily dose .... called the daily
" " digest. That way there's not a bizillion emails
" " in the box, just one long one with all the days
" " mail. Some like it, some don't. I don't even know if it's offered here?!
" "
" " Keep loving bluegrass & gospel music, it's the very best music in the

" "
" " * Yes, darlin', it is. It's not manufactured,
" " it's "felt". And I'm still SO glad we've got
" " people sitting at a table and talking, finally! And so many new people.
" " Nice to meet you all and nice to talk to some of the quieter ones too!
" " This
" " can be a warm, fun place. I like ALL the memories shared here recently. I
" " personally think The Stanley's and ALL Mountain-folk want the WAY of
" " living
" " to continue too ... so talking about memories, heritage, various other
" " "Mountain Soul" things is a *Good* thing. It's not JUST the music, it's a
" " way of life, a culture. Even no matter
" " where you're from. (shrugs) Talking about the culture is just as good
" " as...
" " a cup of mud on a high wind morning.
" "
" " ... hey Buddy?? ... <grins> leave me alone now boy. Descriptives are my
" " writing nature
" " so you can "see" my tone and expressions.
" " okay? <a side-glare wink and an elbow> lol
" "
" " 'tis the season. Be Merry.
" " Renee' :o)
