At the New Orleans ACS in April 2008,
there will be a reprise of the "social networking"
session; last time it attracted some 15 speakers and was considered
amongst the more successful sessions (it received a brief write up in
C&E News).

I suspect this time, not a few of the talks will concentrate on eg Facebook
etc. I thought instead a presentation highlighting the Blue Obelisk group
itself might counterbalance this nicely.

For this to work, can I ask as many of you as have the time to consider
making available a FOAF entry. These are being collected at

http://blueobelisk.sourceforge.net/wiki/Members

where you can see three entries already. Egon is going to write
an aggregator, which will automatically collect the entries, and deposit
the RDF into a triple store. This can then be queried appropriately.
Hopefully, it will eg reveal Blue Obelisk activities eg at ACS.

I will also update mine to include any articles with BO-activities in
my publications list, talks (other than ACS), projects (the NMR
project currently under way with Christoph/Peter), etc etc.

You should be able to log in/create an account on this Wiki, and add
you entry yourself, but you could also send your FOAF URL to me directly.
For this to make sense, we probably need at least 10 FOAFS.

If anyone wants to contributed in other ways, we will also put your
name on the ACS abstract presentation (currently, Egon and I are
co-authors).
