I agree.

To clarify. There is nothing special about the ACS - it's just that it's one
of the most likely places that people will meet. There's no reason why they
should take place in Goslar, or Ireland, or St. Olaf or Cambridge if 3 or
more people happen to coincide in spacetime. For example Jean-Claude and
Cameron Neylon and I will be at the Open Science Summit in Berkely next week
- we could make a BO dinner from that at the local pizzeria or whatever. The
only limitation is I don't think there is a dinner slot free.
