I am still chasing my tail on the server listed below. For no apparent reason and with not much evidence to go on, the server just stops responding to anything but pings all on its own and requires a reboot to get back online. Below are the last items I can confirm occurred on the machine before it locked up and stopped responding this AM:
Jan 20 02:40:45 web1 syslogd 1.4.1: restart. Jan 20 02:41:01 web1 crond[24780]: (root) CMD (/usr/local/sbin/dfix.sh) Jan 20 02:41:03 web1 dovecot: pop3-login: Login: user=<site12>, method=PLAIN, rip=216.17.175.95, lip=208.77.219.98 Jan 20 02:41:04 web1 dovecot: POP3(site12): Disconnected: Logged out top=0/0, retr=0/0, del=0/0, size=0 Jan 20 02:41:10 web1 cced(smd)[24997]: client [0:24996] has admin rights Nothing beyond 02:41:10 appears in any of the logs. SSH connects but times out. Telnet 110 and 587 appears to connect, blanking the screen, but echos nothing. DNS appears to be up as pinging to domains hosted on the server returns IP address ping times. It has to be locked up though because the logs stop at the time of the lockup and don't restart until rebooted. Any ideas would be welcome. > From: [email protected] [mailto:[email protected]] > On Behalf Of Darrell D.
