But i believe it's possible... using span tags:
HTML:
The <span class="abbr" title="This Is Possible"><abbr title="This Is
Possible">TIP</abbr></span> method can be used in IE6.
Output:
The TIP method can be used in IE6.
CSS:
.abbr {your styles;}
Because the stylesheets in BP are well commented, maybe this method could be
inserted in the ie.css as a comment. That way IE6 will pass the list.
