I have a suggestion
Pamphlets can include the Map of India with flag in the middle. this can be
in black or can be taken to be only in background only in light grey color.
the reason for this is .. i think a picture along with words will gain
greater attention while that will not take any extra expense. atleast not a
significant one.

 Dear Friends,

I am worried that most our members have not understood seriousness of
present situation and significance of developments taking place over last
few months. We are still thinking of social work when there is urgent need
for some serious activities.

I am compelled to compare our situation with the one where we have a
patient with many diseases, and over a period of time all these ailments
have started affecting *vital functions of his body* and *we are carrying
tincture iodine and bandage* to treat the patient.

Try to understand the situation:

1. There is total breakdown of governance, government has no agenda for
serious development, the leaders are mearly reacting to the developments.
Any serious political leader would have initiated programs for improvement
in *Judiciary, town planning, basic education system, citizenship
identification system, administrative reforms and police reforms*, which are
*basic for good governance*. Present *political buggers seating in the fish
market* have no such agenda and are interested in furthering their political
agenda by initiating and supporting programs like reservation policy and
commercialization of everything including public infrastructure, public
utilities, and education.

2. Effectiveness of overall judicial system is at its lowest
3. Administration is corrupt, ineffective, incompetent, directionless, self
concerned
4. Media has become commercial
5. Society is directionless, and confused.
6. There is total crises of leadership, no social or political leadership
which commands faith of the people
7. Morale and integrity of armed forces has for the first time is being
questioned
8. Pakistan is hell bent on creating serious disturbance in the country
9. Naxalites have gained enough strength to take on might of state
governments
10. Established contractors and political leaders use all means available
to them including muscle power to win over work contracts from state
government and local municipal administration .
11. Established political leaders use all means available to them including
muscle power to retain their seats in local elected bodies.

These are some of the signs of deterioration that is *happening un-arrested
over last half century* since our independence. Also let me warn all of you,
If corrective actions are not taken we will have to forget our dreams for
ourselves, our family and society.

Please throw out ideas of local medication from your mind if you are
seriously interested in doing something good for the country and our people.
I am afraid days of goody goody work are over, and we need people with real
dedication guts and determination.

Milind Kotwal

Friends,

Yesterday, Rajya Sabha (upper House) of Parliament has passed 'Post of
Profit' Bill without any change. All this gambit was done to save some
corrupted politicians who are holding many post all together. The Parliament
(Prevention of Disqualification) Amendment Bill, 2006, was sent back to
Parliament for its reconsideration by President APJ Abdul Kalam on May 30,
weeks after it was passed by Parliament.

Shamelessly UPA govt has bring it in same ways, without any change.. They
even did not care about president's advise. It has happen first time in
history of Indian Democracy, when advise of president has been totally
ignored!!

It shows how morally bankrupt they are. Friends, India has a large number of
scholar who can lead institutes, trusts, foundation in much better way. Here
all social science researcher and social workers are having tough time with
perpetuating unemployment. But alsh! Netas want all.... Our nation is being
looted by those netas and we have no roll to stop them.

Last few months they have bring Quota in Some Higher Education Institutes.
They say it for social justice... Friends, Its really impossible to
understand who the hell they are talking about, when 90% of Indian kids
could not study beyond high school. They have proved that they don't care
even judiciary on this front. Ninth schedule have mode to meet this
purpose. The best example is Tamil Nadu, where 69% reservation is being
given, overruling Supreme Cort Judgement.

The most ugly part of their act is on justice and crime front! The
netas/power holders got licence to kill, rape and abdult anyone , scam any
amount of Govt. amount and get bail to live life peaceful, when justice will
come when they will die! The recent examples are- muderers of Jessica Lal,
Vikas Katara, Pridarshini Matoo and many more innocent people.
Friends... don't you think *Enough is Enough!*

They are doing all their tactics to hold our daily life in their wish. Let
say no to them. Lets join hands togather to fight the unjust sytem getting
shaped in India.

Dear friends
*"Awakening India"* looks okay to me. Has the slogan been used already by
some other organisation? if not, then there shall be no problem. Delhi
chapter, i think, is also using the same tagline.

 *Bangla encroachment rocks LS*
FromOur Staff Correspondent assam tribune 28.07.06

NEW DELHI, July 27 – A day after Asom Government admitted to encroachment on
its land by Bangladesh Government, Centre has placed the Border Security
Force (BSF) on high alert following reports of massive build up by
Bangladesh Rifles (BDR) across Karimganj sector. In the Lok Sabha, however,
the Government was caught on the wrong foot, when an agitated NDA sought a
clarification from the Centre on State Revenue Minister, Dr Bhumidhar
Barman's statement in the Assembly. Clearly unsatisfied with Defence
Minister, Pranab Mukherjee's reply, they stormed out of the House.

Highly placed sources in the Ministry of Home Affairs said that reports have
poured in suggesting accumulation of forces across the Kushiara River. BDR's
unwarranted action has sent alarm bells ringing in the Home Ministry, which
promptly placed the BSF in high alert.

Sources said that a high level team of officials led by secretary Border
Management, BS Lal was being rushed to Asom to take stock of the situation.
The Home Ministry officials are also slated to hold a review meeting of the
Assam Accord with the State Government, sources added.

Meanwhile, State Revenue Minister's reply in Asom Assembly about
encroachment on Asom's land by Bangladesh raised the hackles of the
Opposition, which called for clarification from the Defence Minister.
Mukherjee, was caught unawares and pleaded that he needed notice to get the
relevant details.

This further infuriated the BJP members, which blasted the Government,
pulling it up for being ignorant about statements made by Ministers on such
a vital issue. "The moment we came to know about it we acted," he said.

The Opposition tried to further pin down the Government over the issue of
infiltration by LeT operatives into the Air Force. The issues raised by VK
Malhotra led to heated exchanges between the Defence Minister and the
Opposition, which later stormed out of the House.

Later, briefing newsmen, Malhotra compared the encroachment by Bangladesh to
that of the Kargil intrusions, asserting that when the Government had learnt
about it, it evicted the encroachers. However, the Defence Minister's reply
that he needed notice cannot be accepted. It is reprehensible and he does
not deserve to be Defence Minister of the country," Malhotra said, in a
hard-hitting statement.

On Tuesday, the Opposition in the State Assembly had also expressed serious
concern at the encroachment on Asom's land by neighbouring country
Bangladesh besides Meghalaya, Nagaland, Arunachal Pradesh and Mizoram.

The Revenue Minister said that Bangladesh has encroached on 499.83 acres of
the State's land, while, the neighbouring states were encroaching on
2,12,206 acres of land of the state.

2. MOM Of BM Pune Chapter
MOM (Minutes of Meeting)

All Hands Meet (AHM) 22nd of July, 2006

MIT-SOG Premises, Kothrud

No. of participants : 25

New members : 3

Hello friends,
On 22/07/06 we i.e Bharat Uday Mission (Pune Chapter) had our
2nd All Hands Meet .

As the time is passing by, we are growing and getting
better towards our aims and objectives. At this AHM we came across
lot of things about us like where we are facing problems, where we
lack in and what are our ideas to take BM_Pune forward. Till now we
are not clear about our exact goals and objectives. I mean we don't
have single answer for this. At this meeting we got the answer.

The AHM was conducted at the MIT-SOG premises. For availing
this place, we cordially thank Shri. Vishnu Swaminathan, Student, MIT-
SOG. It started around 9.15 am. with the National Anthem, followed by
a brief introductory speech by Vihang which was followed by
Hrishikesh's brief introduction about BM_Pune for the new members.
This was later followed by Rohan's introduction about the Activity
Guidelines drafted by BM_Pune for its future goals and objectives. In
this AHM we have arranged some guest lectures also which started
around 10.30 am.

Shri. Amol Phadke (working with Arthkranti Pratishthan, Pune)

Arthkranti Pratishthan is working and trying very hard to improve the
financial instability in the country. Mr Amol Phadke is an active
member of Arthkranti Pratishthan and from his lecture we came to know
lot of unknown aspects and loop holes within the Financial Scenario
of the country though we did not get all the Economical terms. What
he wanted to say was really correct, that finance is very important
aspect in the growth of any country. That is why the Arthkranti
people are striving hard to get their ideas implemented within the
government so that it can help remove the financial instability of
the country.

Shri. Mohan Shete (member of Itihaas Premi Mandal, Pune)

Shri. Mohan Shete is working as a History teacher in Pune. As a
member of Itihaas Premi Mandal, Shri.Shete and other members of this
Mandal are trying hard to inculcate the important and unknown aspects
of our Golden History into the children and ignorant people like us.
They do this by arranging Trekking for the children and take them to
various historical places and forts and show them how our history is.
Because of Shri. Shete we came to know what understanding and knowing
our history really means. He said in his lecture that "if you want to
go ahead just look behind and first try to learn what your history
wants to teach you, than only you can go forward in life". He also
said that what we all lack in our countrymen is LOVE for our country.
If we want to make our country prosperous than we should first learn
how to love our country.

Shri. Vishnu Swaminathan (student, MIT-SOG)

Whenever we talk about any ideal in our life or any true source of
inspiration then names of some of the famous people from the history
will come to our mind. But in his presentation, Shri. Vishnu talked
about few people for whom a common Indian became a source of
inspiration. One of those example is of N.Krishnan.
He is a gold medalists in catering and got offer from
Switzerland. By chance he came across one poor old man in rags who
was having his food from roadside bin. This man in rags somehow
became a source of inspiration for N.Krishnan and he started kitchen
for the poor people in his backyard and daily feeds them with his own
hands.

Like N.Krishnan other people who dared to live out their
dream of changing the society in some different manner irrespective
of their caste and status are Shri. Adhikari (rickshawpuller, gets
books for poor children from his pocket every week) , Smt. Anuradha
Gobardhan Bakshi (daughter of an IAS officer, runs a school in the
Delhi slums. Source of inspiration is Manu, a mentally handicapped
child),
Shri Savitri Kannan (common man, runs school for 150 children in his
home from his own pocket),
Shri Arvind Kejriwal (working with Central Government, trying to
change the corrupt internal working structure of the government by
being a part of it).

All the above mentioned people are really a source of
inspiration for all of us who wants to change the society in some way
or the other and only these people stand true for the quote Mahatma
Gandhi gave "Be the change what you want to see in the world"

This was how all the guest lectures ended encouraging our idea to
change the society as well as country. It is not an easy task to do.
We will constantly need help from people like Shri.Shete Sir, Shri.
Amol Phadke and Shri Vishnu Swaminathan, Sadhana Madam and all other
members and guests present at the meeting.
After the lectures, normal question hour was conducted for
all the newly joined members in BM_Pune chapter. This hour helped us
to get some questions for which we will have to be prepared from next
time onwards. We got lot of ideas and suggestions from all the people
who were present there. Some of the very interesting and correct
questions raised for us to answer were :

1.at the end, what is the main aim of BM?
2.why BM wants its representatives to work for other NGO's?
3.why can't BM decide and follow its own ideologies?

What we learned?
1.we will have to improve our way of organizing any meeting.
2.ideas and goals of BM should be same and clear in the minds of all
the BM members.
3.need to improve participation of more and more people in BM.
4.BM can act as an event manager for other NGO's.

P.S. : Any correction or ideas regarding this MOM are welcome.

Jai Hind

 Dear Friends

I am happy to inform that Nirman Samvad is ready for LOKARPAN, it is
possibility that LOKARPAN will be done by our former prime minister Sh
Vishwanath Pratap Singh on the gathering of about 10 thousand persons. The
first issue is very good and mature issue but still we dont think that it is
as our expectations. We got financial support as personal loan and as grants
also. We tried to spend money only in magazine but we got that to publish a
magazine is not an easy task if you are not compromising with ideologies.
Our editor moved and traveled a lot to discuss various articles with
national social personalities. Some days he did not get food. He is not
earning money but he is working for social policies for decades, he is
married and he has a child of age 9 years but he has no time to live with
his family, with his wife, with his baby. He is using his total energy for
social policies.
He works hard for hours daily, he has no vehicle to travel, and he uses
public transport to travel (DTC Buses). He was not taking precautions for
his health, as result he is very much sick now for last 4 days, but he is
still working.
I am very thankful to him that because of him, I could start a social policy
magazine. I hope with the good wishes of you all, we will move towards
social solutions.

I want to give special thanks to my Religious Mother Smt. Amla Ruia, My
Patrons Sh Dr Harish Chandra Verma (H C Verma, Prof IIT Kanpur) and Dr
Giriraj Kishore (well known literary personality), My Guardian Sh Ashok
Sachan, IES, My Soul Ms Claire Glendenning, My Mother Ms Lorna Harrison, My
Brothers Sh Rupesh Garg, Sh Ramnarendra and thanks to other friends.

Managing Editor-- Vivek Umrao

Editor- Vijayendra

Editor Board- Dr Giriraj Kishore, Dr Rakesh Rafiq, Rajendra prasad singh, Dr
Amrendra, Ramnika Gupta, Pushpraj, Deepak Jyoti, Avinash.

It will be in your hand after few days, as per your knowledge, each social
initiative always starts with financial and assets crisis. We worked hard a
lot. We were in lots of mental and moral tension, that we will be able or
not to make this magazine a social alternative in current vacuum of
alternative media. But we tried our best in low assets, even persons are
saying it is very good magazine but we are not satisfied we want to develop
it more and more with support from you all.

I hope magazine will always get support from you all. Please accept it as
your own magazine.

Best Regards

Vivek Umrao

Nirman Pariwar
