Hi guys, I originally asked for this notice to be posted on your bme site. I am not sure whether it has been done or not, so am resending it out this way. Hope that it doesn't piss too many of you off, adding it to a post on ESU's.
Hi guys, I am a nurse at the Royal Hobart Hospital, ICU. I have to GIVE away 2 x PB 7200ae ventilators, (preferably), to a public hospital that still has some of these reliable little puppies on their asset register. 1 with 18K hours 1 with 54K hours. Functional. Well optioned. Screens. Operator manuals. Humidifier and support arms NOT included. Ready for use, after acceptance testing / performance verification, by the prospective user. Or, suitable for spares. These are far too good to throw on to the tip. To acquire, all that needs to be done is contact me, and arrange for a con note and a courier to pick up, pack, and return to your base. As long as there is NO cost to the DHHS / RHH you can be the proud owner of two low km's ventilators. As is, where is. Have only had minimal usage since last PM. If no responses by mid December, they shall be either given to a local Vet, or end up as scrap metal. Please advertise this somehow within bme circles. First courier to front with a valid con note wins. No correspondence will be entered into. The judges decision is FINAL!!! I am the sole judge and arbiter. Apart from early teething problems (we were one of first to have these devices) we have only had some minor error codes in Bipolar mode and one faulty power supply. So far we have not let any smoke out. regards Ray Bowles Biomedical Engineering Goulburn Valley Health Graham St Shepparton,3630 P 03 58322023 M 0407322037 -----Original Message----- From: Cowley, Simon [mailto:[EMAIL PROTECTED] Sent: Monday, 24 November 2008 3:19 PM To: [email protected] Subject: [bmelist] High level of faults with Valleylab Force Triad Electrosurgical Units Dear BMElist Subscribers, I wish to make a general enquiry to determine if anyone has been having problems with the Valleylab Force Triad electrosurgical units (ESUs). We currently have four ESUs at Royal Melbourne which have been problematic since they were purchased in June 2008. One unit has been repaired under warranty 3 times for 'Error 289', which relates to a RF circuit board. An incident that is most concerning was last week we had one of the Force Triads begin to smoke at the rear of the unit. The ESU was in Theatre at the time and in standby mode awaiting use. Tyco Healthcare in response to our complaints has replaced both of the ESUs under warranty. I would like to know if anyone else has been having problems with the Force Triads, possibly even raising their concerns to the TGA. Any comments you can provide will be most appreciated.
