Ray, et al The "Test and tag" tests to AS 3760, which allows an earth resistance of 1 ohm. AS 3551 allows an earth resistance of 0.2 ohm, or if the power cord is detachable, 0.3 ohm ( 0.2 ohm can be in the power cord). So I don't believe that a "test and tag" of the power cords of medical devices is adequate. Regards John Coles

Would appreciate feedback as to how the Biomed Fraternity is addressing the above conundrum so that all and sundry, including auditors can clearly see that the equipment has been tested. Do we tag the lead as in "test and Tag" as well as the equipment? Do we allow "test & tagging" of all mains leads and ourselves concentrate on testing the equipment to AS3551? The answer may be obvious to most but I've been feeling a tad thick of late. regards Ray Bowles.
