The College of Biomedical Engineers and
SMBE (NSW) presents …

Reflection on a Misspent Life in Biomedical Engineering

Another Stroll Down Memory Lane

This is largely the experiences of one Alex Watson for 1964, the year
of his incarceration at Prince Henry Hospital, until the present.
Centred largely at Prince Henry Hospital and the Prince of Wales
Hospital, this story focuses on the research that led to our current
electrical safety standards in hospitals, but also includes many other
comical anecdotes, and a video showing why you should never expose
yourself to a current affairs program. The presentation also includes
references to many other biomeds as well as medical colleagues, who were
intimately involved in the electrical safety discussions of the time, as
well as associated research.
