Work with a hospital that holds a special place in the hearts of Australians in Bali. Following the Bali bombings in 2002, the Australian Government has provided significant support to the 738-bed, government-owned Sanglah Hospital. This role builds on that support and from the work of the previous AVI volunteer, placed in 2005. The Hospital serves as a referral hospital for the provinces of Bali, Nusa Tenggara Timur (NTT) and Nusa Tenggara Barat (NTB). A qualified and experienced maintenance trainer is being sought to train staff and develop sustainable systems and procedures in relation to hospital buildings and maintenance. This is a two-year assignment starting in Oct 2009 or early 2010. The successful candidate will have: Appropriate trade qualifications (electrical engineering or similar) Strong training skills Excellent organisational, administrative and communication skills. Language skills or a commitment to learning Bahasa Indonesian would be strongly preferred.
