Hi All

For cases in theatres where extra or more accesible GPO's are needed, I've seen
special extension packs made up by both TLE & John R Turk to deal with it. What
I mean by 'special' is that these are just normal 4 in 1 extension boxes made
up in a clipsal case with both an RCD and a CPA earthing post installed. Given
that AS3003 states that it's not permitted to have more than 12 GPO's per RCD,
would this be classed as an addition to the existing 12 or be classed as
acceptable because of the additional RCD? Provided that the earthing post is
actually used would this be acceptable for any protected area?
Given that an anaesthetic machine has extra GPO's and there are diathermys that
have a follow through IEC port supplying a smoke evacuator, how do they pass
this additional GPO???
Just wondering how other hospitals deal with this, any help would be greatly
appreciated

Cheers

Pete
