Hello Darren,

Thanks for this information. It was exactly what I was looking for regarding
AQF equivalence.

I found this information at the weblink
http://www.hunter.tafensw.edu.au/services%20and%20facilities/pages/aqf-equivalence-selection-table.aspx.

Thanks Mark, Stephen, and Trevor for your feedback. It is also very
informative.

Kind Regards,
Owen.

Hi all

Attached is a list of old course equivalences from Hunter New England Tafe. It
shows that most old engineering certificate and associate diploma courses are
equivalent to AQF 6

Hope this helps.

Darren

When I did it 30 years ago it was called a Certificate of Technology -
Electronics Technician and it was as an apprentice with 3 years full time study
and the 4th year on the job training with some part time study. I am not sure
that you can draw parallels with today's qualifications, but it seemed to be
the highest Technical qualification at the time. Back then Technicians
undertook technical tasks and Engineers did Engineering, things have become a
bit mixed up since then. I know a few "Technicians" that are heavily involved
in R&D and obviously many BME Engineers as Technicians?

Hi everyone
It was 2 years full-time at TAFE. I would guess the equivalent would be a
Diploma level course these days.

I have one of these certificates and have always been wondering what the
equivalence is, so perhaps reply to the list if know, as I am sure there would
be a few people who would like to know.
