They promised them in 5-6 days and when he called after 9 days they said they were back ordered and didn't even offer an apology (per Jun). I can tell you this is exactly the reason they don't get my business. About 2 years ago I was heading out of town on a Friday, phoned BMP early on a Wednesday to get a car cover 2nd day air. They take all the information and say, "no problem". Later (much later) that day I get a call from them saying my shipping address doesn't match my billing address. I give them the info, ask if I'll still get the cover on Friday, and they say "not unless you pay for overnight, otherwise you'll get it on Monday". I explain that their customer service guy never asked for a billing address. They say he was supposed to and that it was a mistake. OK, so have him pay the difference, it wasn't my mistake. This goes all the way to the owner of BMP and he's like, "it's a new guy, he made a mistake, it's just a car cover, it's not that important". It wasn't the cost of the additional shipping charge, it was their lack of customer service and the idea that if it's not a high ticket item it's not important. I cancelled my order and purchased the more expensive cover from the local dealer. When I told the parts guy at MotorWerks BMW what happened, he gave me an additional discount (which I didn't ask for or expect). Guess who gets my factory parts business? There are several suppliers that understand customer service, Circle Tire, Eurosport, Active Autowerk, Zionsville Motorsport, Turner Motorsport, T.C. Kline, Midwest Motorsport, and UUC Motorwerks are the first few that come to mind. I've dealt with these guys in the past and have no problem sending my buds there. I've seen and heard some outstanding systems from a place in Oakbrook (I think) called FX or Music FX. It's on Roosevelt Rd. One of the systems was nearly as expensive as the M3 it was in. I recall Macintosh amps and a cost of approximately $15K. I'm sure they can do less expensive system. For me, in my previous E36 car (yeah, the ///ME was sold) I had (and miss) JL Audio stealth boxes powered by a Phoenix Gold 44 amp which also powered a set of JBL 5" drivers in the kick as well as the stock door speakers. I used an Eclipse head with cassette and a matched changer in the glovebox. System friggin' rocked. Man will I miss that. I think that adding an amplifier and the stealth boxes will greatly improve a stock system. - -e. p.s. If the responder was interested in purchasing the vehicle the response should have been private. I don't believe the responder had/has any intention of purchasing the car. I would be truly pissed if I posted something for sale and then had someone not interested in it post that my price was too high. If there's anyone here that thinks they need to be the price police, please start at eBay and let us know when you can fit this little group in. But, everybody thinks the OE BBS wheels for this car are hard to find, expensive, etc. Everybody is wrong. A week and $400-$500 later you've got the correct wheels and those chrome monstrosities are history. 2. I don't know exactly how ebay works, but IMHO unless your planning on gutting/rebuilding it for racing, this is not a car you buy over a video screen. Five minutes in person and you can tell more than you could with 50 phone calls or JPEGs. There are so many important things to check on a hi-miler E30 M3 that I wouldn't know where to start--but a quick trip to http://www.artglenn.com/bmwm3 will help a lot. 3. This car's history appears to be that of the deadly combination of enthusiastic but uninformed boy-racer (wheels and "BMW Motorsports" (sic) windshield decal). 4. I like E 30 M3s a lot. But I have to admit that I am a bit mystified over the current market fervor (or at least ebay market fervor--this is at least the third in recent months that is getting some attention). Three months ago I sold my mint '90 M3 with 48k miles and I had people waiting in line--literally--to buy it. Fantastic car to autocross, etc., but as a daily driver it is definitely an acquired taste. My wife simply would not ride in the car except on short trips (Note to self: what the hell was I thinking, selling the M3??) 5. Rear brakes will also be special Porsche components with one caliper per side.
