Hi All, I'm wondering if anyone has any feedback on installing the E30M3 offset control arm bushings ('89-'91) in an E36M3? The E30 ones are firmer & the offset increases castor, I believe. My mechanic & I know they fit, but I was wondering if anyone has any feedback as to how they affect handling, etc. Is this a worthwhile upgrade? My cheap crap door handles don't work. I had to climb into my car through the passenger side today after work. You can imagine how well that went over with 2,500 union guys watching me (I'm sure they didn't ALL see, but it felt like it). "Wassa matta? Dat fanzee fer-in car driver door don't open? Wos, it like Dukes uh Hazzud or sumptin'? My American car door works just fine." That's just fantastic, buddy.... So can anyone tell me how to fix these? Can I throw some grease in the latch or do I need to adjust something inside the door? I can open it from the inside...with effort, but it's possible. Can't find my Bently manual. I suspect normal (center of temp gauge, which is one of the few marked in degrees instead of colors) is around 210. I suspect someone installed a different thermostat when some major engine repairs were done a while back, which included water pump and bunch of other stuff following an accident. My question is, should I be concerned about adverse effects on the engine from running cool, or not worry about it? Is it worth putting in a new thermostat? BTW car operates at 180 degrees once up to temp no matter what the weather, 20 degrees or hotter than hell. Thanks for any help. On an unrelated note, sounds like the Jag described below had a hell of a heater/cigar lighter/on-board creme brulee maker. What I don't get is that he took delivery of this car after this happened? I think I would've left with my money and old car. If something breaks within the first 5 minutes of car ownership, that my friends is a sign from the Good Lord. I once drove home an old GTI a friend bought, and the tach broke within a mile. I knew then he'd made a terrible mistake, and within 2 weeks the car had literally self-destructed one piece at a time. Michael wrote: snip Normally, this wouldn't have been a problem, except the ergonomics for the HVAC controls in that car were anything but intuitive, so he asked the salesman to demonstrate. Bear in mind, that both of them are sitting in the car, the salesman in the passenger seat. "Oh it's easy..." he says, pressing a few buttons. No sooner had the words come out of his mouth (and he's still leaning over), when two flames come shooting out of the center vents, effectively singeing the front of the salesman's perfectly combed coiffure. snip Andy '95 M3 ------------------------------ Date: Thu, 23 Mar 2000 19:00:43 -0500 From: "VincentMathew Malfa" <[EMAIL PROTECTED]> Subject: RE: [uuc] <E36> Locking My 3/94 325is doesn't have this feature either. With so many cars having DRL's, just drive with your headlights on. You can buy IR filters that block visible light but let IR through. Then you can use those 100,000 candlepower landing lights aimed up high with the filters to really blind the laser. Listers, I'll say that more municipalities are getting the laser guns. You can definitely add southern WI to the list. Especially the route from Rockford to Madison. I got lasered 4 times in 70 miles. Mostly they were hiding at construction sites dressed as workers. ( double the fine in const. in WI) I happened to stay over in Madison that night and the news report stated that in a 2 hour period in the morning rush hour 6:30-8:30 they stopped 128 speeders!!! One gun, 5-8 squads waiting on the on ramp. So watch the west-south side beltline around that area. They stop for 8 over. I know my dad is a retired cop from that town. Anyway, I went to the PBR Deluxe pads. Quiet, no dust, got 30K out of the last set, and the wife doesn't complain that they don't work when their cold.
