Hi, All: Sorry for the blank post, I accidentally pressed Enter key. Before I had a chance, it was out. Anyway, I was in market to shop for a Euro Headlamp for my car, 95 325is. to my surprise, I can not find them anywhere. Only people left who still offer them is from Zionsville. I have nothing against them, I just need more price comparison. Does anyone has any clue about the availability of the Euro HeadLamp? thanks in advance. I remember a few years ago a place called Noble, I believe that sold the entire line at a good discount, but I don't think they're around any more. From the DinanBMW site it looks like they just list a bunch of independent shops and car dealers as authorized dealers. Just tryin' to get the best price. Neil, Hopefully you can clarify, but isn't the V-6 used in the 9-5 just a turbo-charged derivative of the GM one used in the Catera/Omega, or I am totally offbase here? BTW, I recently had the chance to drive the latest Saab turbo 4 in the 9-3, and it was impressive, especially on the highway. To the gentlemen wondering if his 5 series has vinyl or leather: One way to tell vinyl from leather is to take your fingernail and press it on the vinyl/leather surface. Hold it there for a few seconds. Remove your fingernail. If the indent you leave on the surface immediately pops back out to normal, it is vinyl. If it takes a bit for the indent to work its' way out of the surface, you have leather. I've heard both; the holes in cross drilled give more surface area for heat to dissipate and allow gas to escape so the pad doesn't "hydroplane" ("gasoplane"?) on the rotor. The slotted ones are specifically FOR this, as I understand. - -- Just Moe '95 540 6 speed, BL/SS BMWCCA Peachtree Chapter ------------------------------ Date: Tue, 28 Mar 2000 09:52:15 -0500 From: "Duane Collie" <[EMAIL PROTECTED]> Subject: [uuc] Drilled Rotors >I have had Brembo cross drilled rotors on my car fo >3 years now and not one problem at all and I might add that I have been >known to strech the speed limit a little from time to time,so I don't >understand why everone else is so negitive towars them. 1. They crack under hard use. Track use. This is O.K. if you have the budget to toss $$$$ rotors like professional race teams do. Only drilled rotors that have the cooling holes in place during casting won't do the cracking thang (a 'la Porsche). 2. On a street car, they're a 'dress mod', nothing more. - - Duane C. When a 225/45 is mounted on a 7.5 inch wide rim and compared to a 205/50 that is also mounted on a 7.5 inch rim, both tires are virtually the same width, sidewall to sidewall. This is due to the different measuring procedures for 50 and up tires compared to 45 and down tires. Gary pointed out the density levels and additionally if you look at a cross section of roll bar foam, it's thicker on one side of the foam and that's the side you point towards the anticipated impact area. - - Duane ------------------------------ Date: Tue, 28 Mar 2000 10:41:37 EST From: [EMAIL PROTECTED] Subject: [uuc] Re: Slotted Rotors << Subject: Re: [uuc] Re: Slotted Rotors Question From: Moe Drippins <[EMAIL PROTECTED]> > > I would have thought the more *surface area*, the better heat > dissipation. That kind of action should be fun no matter what the race result is. Just my 2 cents worth.
