Would it be possible for me to replace the rotors with the ones found on the E34 shape ? I know the E34 have the 5 nut rotor hub , maybe i might need to drill some holes. Has anyone attempted this ? Hey folks, Is it just me, or has the post rate to this digest (individual email format) gone way down over the past two days? Typically I'll receive 50-60 posts every morning. The last two days have yielded only about 6-10 posts. Bill, I think there must be something wrong, however, because I did not receive my original post on this topic. I did, however, receive your response to it. Very pleased so far, but I thought I'd ask this knowledgeable group (as I also tried on the 5 series Bimmer Forum) a few cleaning-it-up questions: - -The auto shifter has a slider cover that has gotten damaged and crumpled. I have a new one ready to install, but how do I get access to it? Does the gear indicator cover just pop off, or do I need to remove the wood paneling around the shifter, too? - -The roof headliner is fairly dirty in the cargo area. Is there any way to clean this material safely? - -What's the best way to get old aftermarket tinting material off windows? - -Finally, the dual suroofs really squeek during operation. Is there a favorite lubricant for the tracks? Thanks in advance! It's not BMW-specific, but a company called empeg in the UK is selling a prebuilt head unit to play mp3. It is a StrongARM proc with your choice of hard drive and it runs linux. Upload is from your PC via USB. It stores about 17 hours of audio via gb of disk. That means the ultimate 36gb monster is goof for over 600 hours of music with no repeats. Not cheap ($1k for 4gig model, IIRC), but it does look slick. <http://www.empeg.com> The other alternative I've seen is a laptop stashed in the trunk running linux. commands are sent via a minimalist keypad connected to a ps/2 port and screen is done by one of those 4 line LED screens. Output is to a headunit via RCA. I can't remember what the owner used for software, but I can try and track him down if you're interested. Not as slick as empeg but much cheaper. Good luck - I'd be interested to see what you come up with. tom philip '94 325is -- stock radio. ------------------------------ End of [uucdigest] V3 #568 ************************** _________________________________________ | Please visit these UUC-approved BMW parts vendors/service providers: | (listed alphabetically) | Bonneville Motorwerks . http://www.bonnevillemotorwerks.com | Circle Tire Co.
