Thanks. The parts must be fiberglass. The rear fenders will need considerable work to fit larger than 275 tires. Saves weight? I've removed my bumpers during service work. They are very light, easily managed by one hand. I think the limit of my body modifications will be an E39 spoiler. Digest, I am trying to price my E30 to sell, but I am unsure of an appropriate asking price. I know what the KBB says, and they do not have a clue. They do not takeinto account upgrades, etc. So here are the details: **1989 325is Bronzit/Black leather w/ ~142k miles - - Exterior will be "mint" after touch-ups done July 4the week - - Interior in in excellent condition, some drivers side seat wear, but has been "re-dyed" and looks very good - - Alpina wheels and suspension upgrades - - Yoko A520s on all corners, wider rear tires - - Conforti Chip - - Alpine in dash tuner/CD, with Alpine amp, speakers, and 6-disc changer installed in glove box "Stealth install," less apt to be stolen - - UUC Short shifter, w/ new leather shift knob(stock) - - "Stealth" V1 wiring - - recently serviced, w/ new water pump, timing belt, rear shock bushings, etc. Between the Alpina extras and the Alpine stereo, there is probably $10k extra invested in the car over "stock" models. However, I know that does not translate directly to higher "worth." I guess some pics of the car have been posted on the "Dirty E30" website, but they were taken when the car was "dirty," and before recent paint work. Any advice on pricing would be most appreciated. As a, hmmmm, American visitor to the U.S., I had similar fun trying to get short-term insurance about a year ago. I called the national office of the American Automobile Association who directed me to a company in Florida. Another possibility might be a Dutch firm in Amsterdam suggested by a freight forwarder. Hi All, I will be buying a battery tomorrow and wanted to get your opinions on whether I should buy an OEM battery from BMW or an aftermarket brand. I assume that the after market brands will cost less. Have you heard of internal vs. external venting for BMW batteries? For Sale $8650 Hard to find car; Probably less than 10% of the entire 525 I production run was built with five-speed transmissions (anybody know the exact number?). It makes for a really great combination of sports car feel and surprising fuel economy. A great looking car as well. White with black leather (not vinyl); the paint is in fantastic condition, and does not show any evidence of prior collision repair and the car is totally rust free. The five-speed manual transmission is complemented by MIM 17 in. 5 spoke light alloy wheels mounted with Nearly NEW NITTO HR rated 235 17 40 high Performance radials. Recent service included front lower control arm bushings which characteristically get soft with age. One touch sunroof, and driver's window, power locks with a remote control, power heated seats, ABS brakes and driver's side air bag. Electronics consists of BMW onboard computer with dual displays so that while the passenger is using the computer the driver can be checking information as well. The driver scrolls through the 12 different modes of his computer display in the main instrument panel by sequential taps of the directional indicator lever. Audio consists of an Alpine in dash CD player with detachable face and a really handy wireless remote!!! There is a standard 3 watt cell phone, but I have never used it and do not know if it works. Both driver and passenger seats are power adjustable and electrically heated. Power mirrors and rear window defroster are, of course, standard. The leather is excellent throughout (very nearly perfect and as new) and air conditioning is ice cold on the hottest day. I run a small European car restoration business in Dallas TX and this has been my personal daily driver. Everything works in this car as it should. This car runs and drives very well and I would not hesitate to drive it anywhere. Yes there are some miles on it, but as a shop owner and an Ex-Authorized Mercedes Shop manager, I can tell you that I have seen cars with 3-400,000 miles that look, run and drive like new, and I have seen cars with low miles indicated on the odometer that are rarely driven long enough to even get to normal operating temp and evaporate off all the condensates, acids, fuel and solvents that accumulate in an engine. Miles rarely wear a car out, abuse does. I would far prefer a car driven on the highway for extended periods at full operating temperature, to a car used in town regardless of the number on the odometer. Located in Dallas, TX. So my steering rack is leaking. After 14 years, I am not surprised. Everything I have seen in the various forums indicates that you can't replace the seals in an e30 rack. I do notice that alloembmwparts.com has a seal kit for the e30 rack (but not the e36 rack). Has anyone had any luck in replacing the seals in an e30 rack? Also, as the only adjustment in the alignment on an e30 is the toe, how hard is it to set this yourself?
