Have any of you E36 M3 owners out there put a trailer hitch on your vehicle? I'm seriously considering doing so and getting one of those small trailers that has a bar for four wheels and a large box for tools and supplies. Any advice? But when I went to the M5 Driving Experience with my brother in January, yours was the minority opinion. The night that we had the group dinner, there was an ///M engineer present. He spoke briefly, and then fielded questions. I could not believe the triviality and the ridiculousness of most of the questions (and comments). Pretty soon, I started feeling sorry for the guy. People in the group started treating him as if he personally was responsible for the fact that the stereo system in their off-the-shelf M5 didn't sound like an award winning car-stereo competition car. For crissakes, its a car that's meant to be driven, not a rolling concert hall. But evidently, the class of buyer for this car expects a fantastic stereo. Not you, or me,(or my brother who thought the stereo sounded great) or many people on this list, but there are people out there. And they get mad and express their feelings when they feel they have been led to believe something else by the ///Marketing. WOOHOO!!!! I think this is a good start, but by no means should be considered finished by law makers. One of the failings of this law is people can still be very distracted while dialing or doing other shit with the phone than talking. Dialing I think is the most distracting, because you're not even looking in the direction of the road. The real problem is that Americans seem to want to do every thing in their cars EXCEPT drive them. They want to eat, drink, read (you wouldn't believe how much of this I see), and now watch DVD's or play on the internet. If I remember correctly, the leading cause of ALL auto accidents involves eating/drinking (non-alcoholic) while driving. I believe that in many European countries, it is illegal to eat or drink while driving (hence why German cars didn't have cupholders forever). I think accidents are just going to continue until Americans learn that driving is just not something you do while doing other things. I figure if you want to eat, drink, read the paper, talk on the phone, have your car cruise you along behind the next car by itself, then TAKE THE DAMN BUS. That will let the rest of us go along with our own business much more easily. lee 88 M3 > -----Original Message----- > From: Pat Donahue [mailto:[EMAIL PROTECTED]] > Sent: Thursday, June 28, 2001 7:59 PM > To: [EMAIL PROTECTED] > Subject: Re: [uuc] NY Bans Cell Phones for Drivers! Ok, I'll admit I have no knowledge of autocross, but was looking at the classifications in the O-fest and there are comments about disallowing cars with sound systems with too much power, too many speakers, or subwoofers greater than OEM wheel diameter in stage 2 and allowing DAT players in Stage 3. Am I missing something or is this just a tongue in cheek requirement.
