This looks like a 325es with some cool parts to me, or a real Alpina
that has been butchered. Conveniently, there's no VIN listed.

Here's the real C-2 per Alpina, but no photos:

Carlos and Gary poke fun at separated wires.
hey ey ey, gotta keep 'em separated, I digress....

Looks OK to me, Phat chebby, Hot rod, whatever.
I could think of worse things to do, much worse.

what's the stock price for a wire set? Maybe some
of us don't have the pockets for a new set so they
improvise.

Shane> NJT to 287E over the Tappan Zee Bridge to 684N to 84E thru Hartford
and up to the Mass Pike. Take the Mass Pike East to 495N (DO NOT GO TO THE
INNER LOOP> Rt 128/I95 it's a nightmare)
Take 495 N to 93N and get off at the Waterville exit. 495 is the Outer loop
around Boston and will save you mucho time :-)It's also a more direct route
As Mike posted their are hills on I84 Eastbound....Be patient, but they're
not steep grades...

Steve see below for responses>

I'll be heading to Waterville Valley Saturday morning from Maryland.

It's been a long time since I travelled the roads through Westchester into
CT.

Which would be the best choice?

A) 95 - NJ Tpke - GSP - TZ Bridge - 287 - 95 - 91 - 84
Spent many miles on these roads when living in NY and NJ.

NO, NO & No....95 is always a nightmare!

B) 95 - NJ Tpke - GSP - TZ Bridge - 287 - Merritt Parkway - 91- 84
Slightly more scenic with the Merritt.

YES! Do this Route...remember to take Rt 495 North off of the Mass Pike
Two other reasons this RT is fastest. No trucks on the Merrit/Wilbur Cross
Pkwy and just before Hartford you go over the Charter Oak Bridge to pick up
I84...therfore MISSING Dwtn Hartford completly!

C) 95 - NJ Tpke - GSP - TZ Bridge - 287 - 684 - 84
Newer roads and a change of scenery for me.

Slower, much more traffic and many speed traps! You also have to go right
thru Downtown Hartford, which really can have bad traffic.

The times and mileages are roughly the same with all the routes.

See you folks next week!
Steve

You should see Kendall 70w Nitro. Racing oil and in harleys. MAN!!! below 40
deg that stuff is molasses. You 10/60 is thinner due to the 10 and not
straight 70 (duh) but still sounds like long slow warm up to me. I pulled
the drain on a non running 02' engine with that when it was about 25F
outside. It took 6 hours for all the goo to come out.

A co-worker of mine is looking at a 1992 325i auto with 195k miles. He
was wondering whether he could "get another 50k miles out of it". Got
me wondering: What are the most likely drivetrain related things to go
bad on high mileage E36 cars? Rings? Valvetrain? Auto transmission?
Diff? Driveshaft?

Let's assume that all the lesser wear and tear items have been addressed
- -- brakes, suspension, water pump, radiator, hoses, water pump, etc.

Any first-hand experiences or WAGs? This is, and shall remain, a street
car.

Hi

Does anyone want to hear about the Slant six Dodge Dart I used to own? How
about my 1964 Volvo 122S wagon? There was also that bunch of Chevy's I
inherited from my parents. These are not as exotic as a "LAMBO" but what the
hell since we are not talking about BMWs anymore I thought we could start a
series of threads about any piece of junk that anyone has ever owned.

Its good to discuss other rides, but do we really need to beat them in to
ground?

Yep. The switch checks out fine.

Someone has to have the schematic for this...

because this is where power for the blue light comes from.

Now where does the violet wire go

I am about at the point where I am going to go over the wiring with a toner
and see where they go.

My other confusion is out under the hood. Too mant wires on the pressure
switches for my taste. Here is what I found out there.

Can someone tell me what wheel offsets are used on the
5 and 7 series Bimmers ('86 - '01 ) ? Is there such a
chart somewhere on the web ?

Is any of this in the ETM?
That would be worth the price alone.
no schematic in the e28 manual, sorry.

Subject: [uuc] '88 E30-M3 for sale (SF Bay Area)

All,
I'm putting my 1988 M3 up for sale.

It's white on black, with around 89,500 miles. I'm the 3rd owner. It
has the following "mods" on it: H&R Springs, ST Sway Bars, Bilstein Sports
Shocks, Eibach Stress bar, Offset bushings, and the alum. control arms.
That's it for the suspension I believe. It also has a Garret Chip in
it, Evo Cam Gear, Evo Airbox, and a Bolt-on Borla Muffler. Oh, and it
has the all important oil baffle!

Other nic-nacs include, the Korman Intake manifold support (hopefully
it'll help stop intake manifold leaks!), the harder red alternator bushings,
Evo intake manifold gaskets (along w/ the M5 paper modification) within
the last couple of thousand miles. Original UUC short shift setup and
VDO oil pressure gauge.

Other things include: Evo bumper covers, Evo door strips, Dead pedal
from an M5, and Momo Race steering wheel. The audio system consists of
a Sony Deck and changer, alpine EQ/x-over, Orion amp and an Alpine Amp,
pair of boston 5.2 pros seperates in the front, a pair of boston 6.2s
pro seperates in the rear, and 2 boston pro 8" subs (free air on the
deck.

The motor is very strong, has good compression.

And now for the bad:
It needs 2 new front rotors (or needs to be machined, as these puppies
(evo rotors)have less then 5k on them!). I keep warping them -- I think
it's because of where I live, I don't brake until late at the exit, and
I don't live far enough from the exit to sufficiently cool down the rotors
before I park. (that's my theory anyhow! and I'm stickig to it)

Also, the previous dofus owner repainted the car! So it's not the original
paint. He had gotten into a minor fender bender (it's straight, I had
2 different body shops measure it out for me), and had the shop reshoot
the car instead of just that fender area. It's the orignial fender still,
it was not replaced.

I think that's it for now. I'm located in the SF Bay area. If you have
any questions, please let me know. Digital Pics are also available upon
request.

Subject: [uuc] <E34> OBC lights

Gruppe: This should be an easy one. The OBC bulbs on
my 92 535i have blown out for the third time in less
than 6 months. This seems to happen all at once (goes
from full illumination to none, not one at a time) and
on start-up (driving along, using the OBC on a trip so
I know it is lit, stop for gas, restart = *no OBC*
lights). I know the computer works because I can see
the functions on the dash display, and even control
them that way. The bulbs are from the dealer. I can
replace them easily but this is getting to be a PITA.
Could their early demise be a sign of voltage spike on
start-up? Or what.....?

Thanks, Jon---doesn't use cell phone in the car, have
to distract myself somehow on long trips, in order to
stay awake he he
