The sedan has 1" more headroom than the coupe.

The sedan gets different front seats - essentially the Sport seats from the
"regular" 3 Series instead of the so-called "Darth Vader" seats in the
coupe.

I'm not entirely certain, but the coupe (and convertible) may have been the
only ones to get the 3-spoke steering wheel(?).

>From some limited research, the sedan has a different underpanel than the
coupe - that's the panel under the radiator/engine that the coupes seem to
lose on a regular basis :-) - see the following photos for the sedan
version:

I think that's about it.

Anybody heard of Erik Vaughn Machine shop in Monrovia California?
I've been thinking of having them cut out the centers of my 390mm TRX
wheels and having them mill off just a little bit (0.3") off the outer
circumference and having them weld the center back onto a 15"
rim. Erik says he can do it....here's a link to someone who has
modified his wheel through Erik before:

http://www.ws6.com/wheels.htm

PS, yes, I like the TRX wheel design on my car.

I'm wondering if there's a reasonably priced commercially available toe gauge
out there... or of somebody has a design for a home-brew gauge they could
share.

I agree with Kevin about oils being an argument no-one can win. However, I
think its important for anyone who values their car (and isn't that all of
us here on the digest??) to be informed about the FACTS, rather than just
swallowing the marketing bull!@#$. And I also agree that adding "components"
to oils is a no-no.....how do you know whether what you are adding will not
have some denegrating effect on the additive package put in the oil by the
manufacturer????

Hi Bryan, it is a little known fact that virtually every body part on the
E36 sedan is different from the equivalent coupe part. Also, the seats are
different. The coupe gets the wonderful (design-wise) Darth Vader seats
(not sure why they're called that), while the sedan gets something more
resembling the regular E36 sport seat, with motorsport stripes added.
That's all I can remember. Oh yeah, and the number of doors...

Thanks for inputs guys (Rich, Kevin, Jason, etc). I ordered the fogs from the parts
bin (half the cost vs dealer) and the films from xpel. Good price! Can't wait to get
them installed.

Now for a really tough problem. Has any of you guys tackled the heater core replacing
project? My cabin is beginning to stink with coolant smell. It's small drips for now
and I can still stand it but I'm going to have to within the next two weeks. Bentley's
instructions looks very intimidating. Is this a DIY or should I(shudder) leave this to
the dealer?

TIA

Spencer and Mark,

I have a left and right one of the brackets, I removed the fog lights
and brackets when I turned the car into a club racer. I'll sell them to
either of you for $10 each plus shipping. Hopefully one of you needs
the right one and one the left. I've already sold the foglights.

A stick of wood, say 1x2 with triangles of plywood glued and screwed on each
end. Like this: |\_________/| Put one point in a tread groove. Use a
tape measure on the other side. Works perfectly and consistently to within
1mm.
