I like the celsius/centigrade scale myself since that is what I grew up with. I like the part in John's e-mail about the size of display required for equivalent resolution. I guess we could go to hexadecimal and save a few more digits in the extreme, but not for daily temperatures! Since absolute zero itself is in dispute (as per thermodynamics all molecular motion should be zero at absolute zero, but that would violate Heisenberg's uncertainty since a stationary molecule would be perfectly resolved for both momentum and position) I'm not too sure there is much 'elegance' to be gained from a scale with origin at absolute zero for the moment. Unless I understand that bit of thermodynamic confusion incorrectly, of course. Admittedly 0 F is a somewhat arbitrary number, arrived at as being the lowest temperature Daniel F. could create with salt and ice. In almost all cases, Fahrenheit needs just two characters to achieve the same resolution. In exceptional cases, it needs three to four. Applying the above reasoning, a Fahrenheit display should allow higher temperatures, up to 999 degrees, which should prepare you for a drive everywhere on earth and possibly in hell as well. That Celsius requires more characters to report day-to-day temperatures was one of the two main points of contention in an argument I had with my father over which is the superior temperature scale. The jist of our respective positions was: degrees Crude, no, degrees Foolish. Just a thought. How many people with the long oil light syndrome are running synthetics? Reason I ask, is synthetics seem to flow better and seep from smaller spaces where dino juice doesn't. Would it be possible that the synthetic manages to get past the flowback preventer valve in the canister more so than the dino juice? Could the clearances on the flowback preventer valve have gotten looser so that the synthetic just drains out overnight? Just wondering. That's great news. I knew I was not going to get a full flush (what with fluid still in the ABS pump, etc); but I figured that flushing most of the brake fluid was better than none. On non ASC+T Bentley recommends not exceeding 2 Bar (~19 PSI). I generally keep it in the 10-12 psi range. I just wanted to confirm that there was not some expensive, hard to reach, dealer only valve that died when it got pressure bled.
