Group,

A few days ago, I inquired whether anyone had any experience with ABS Motorsports in
the UK. Well, it appears no one does.

I've been in contact with them a few times in the past week, and they seem to have
very, very reasonable prices on various fiberglass/carbon fibre E30 and E36 body
pieces. However, as you can imaging, shipping from the UK on something the size of a
bumper or splitter is rather ghastly i.e., GBP 89 to ship from one to three GBP 65
(each) splitters.

So, I'm curious whether anyone is interested in hooking up to have some of this stuff
sent over here. Check out the website, and if anyone is interested, please contact me
off-list.

Neil

All US model 1988 325iX cars were 2-door, loaded, sport seats, etc. I do
not believe there were any options in 1988. Since this one is supposedly a
4-door 1988 car, it can't be a US model. It could be a Canadian model that
was converted for use in the US. This is what the seller claims, BUT he
denies that any conversion was necessary.

Nice to see the choices for an orbital.

I've been doing Zymol by hand since I got the car.

Can you use the Zymol cleaner and wax with the orbital?

Hey Everyone:
It is definitely time to sign up for the TECH FEST WEST Event (Formerly Gate
Way Tech) to be held in in SoCal on March 13th through the 16th. The event
starts with a driving school at California Speedway on the Thursday. This
school will be set up to handle rental cars since many will be coming from
out of the area. Friday and Saturday will be two full days of seminars held
by the best in the business - everything from race car prep to suspension,
fuel injection, OBDI and OBDII and everything in between. Totally catering
to gear heads. We also have a 12,000 square foot area with vendor displays.
So far we have over thirty vendors signed up. Every tire company, tuner etc.
will be there showing off the stuff. The speaker in Friday night's buffet
dinner will be Dirk Albert, head of Mobile Tradition and the speaker on
Saturday night banquet will be Anders Warming, the designer of the Z4. We
are planning more happenings for your enjoyment. Like shopping tours etc.
for those who aren't into the seminars as heavily as some. Please see the LA
Chapter's website: www.bmwclubla.org for sign up forms and more info.
Hope to see you all there!
Leif
PS. There is a raffle for the first 100 entrants: two free round trip
airline tickets to the event from anywhere in the US. (48 states only).

Are you talking HD Cleanse cleaner or the Zymol Cleaner Wax (blue product in large
shampoo bottle looking thing)?
While I'm no expert, I wouldn't use the orbital with the Cleaner Wax on my own car.
If you're talking HD Cleanse, I would just rinse and dry the car between steps
(probably not a bad idea between any polish/wax step).

That Cyclo looks cool, but that has to be the lamest web "page" I have

John (and others),
I have received a few pics from ABS of the products I had inquired about. Give me a
little time, and I'll post them to my Yahoo pics and send the link. I'll try to
rename the pics so you can clearly know what the parts are, as it took me several
cross-Atlantic e-mails to clear the confusion.
I don't know directly the quality of this stuff, but for those (like me) not terribly
concerned with Concours quality panels, but who want to lighten up or add aero
components to a track car, the quality/cost mix seems alright.
I'll post soon with the link, in case anyone else is interested.

KC,
The PC is a great machine. In contrast to rotary units, it's very safe and
easy to use. I don't remember where I bought mine either, but I know I got
it for less than Griot's charges.

There are two counterweights made for the machine: one to balance most 5"
pads, another to balance most 6" pads. Make sure that the components you
have in mind are compatible if you end up mixing and matching from different
vendors. You might find visiting the forums at www.autopia-carcare.com
helpful...

Cheers,

Scott Staewen
