My experiences do not agree, I heel-toe downshift my 2002 330i many times every day without a problem. I almost never turn the traction control off. The car has the least amount of clutch pedal feel of any M/T car that I have driven though, it's almost impossible for me to drive it smoothly without rev-matching shifts and blipping the throttle from a dead stop. Good service, cost with some extras is $119. !!! While I have no doubt that the Griot's version is fine, my experience with this one is that it works great for me, never burned my paint and leaves a nice smooth finish. I use 3M machine polish and it has given me no trouble in the past 6 years or so. Jon 92 535i __________________________________________________ Do you Yahoo!? Yahoo! Mail Plus - Powerful. Hello, Does anyone have a photocopy or .pdf copy of the Peak Research fault code manual? I own the tool but can't find the manual and it's not much good without that. I have an E36 M3 so just those pages might suffice, but I'd rather have the whole manual if you've got it. The Porter Cable is alright and will do the job but it tends to vibrate more than I like at higher speeds. The Cyclo...well, the Cyclo is the Ferrari of orbital car polishers. http://www.cyclomfg.com/ Probably more money than you want to spend but just in case anyone else was wondering the same thing. Also, it is nearly impossible to damage the paint with an orbital. A buffer on the other hand.... At least not that I can remember. I do remember, however, being surprised (maybe confused) at this... but I went ahead and installed everything with what I had anyway. This held up around 18mos (until last night). I just put it all back together with new 12mm washers (the left side had come out half-way too, had to hammer it back in to get to the bolt head). I was afraid the bushing the bolt and sleeve had torn through would be somewhat egged out... but I had to apply a fair amount of force and lube to press the sleeve back in, so maybe it'll be OK. I'll find out in a few hours when I drive it to the office. The company is Coastal Tool, and they sell a "bonus kit" which includes the Griot's polisher including the different counterweight needed for switching between 5" and 6" and a couple other things. $119 altogether. I used this along with Griot's polishes as a complete rookie. It seemed to work well, although I was unsuccessful at removing some scratches that I thought should buff out without much trouble. I think I wasn't aggressive/patient enough. If anyone wants to chime in on tips in this area, I'll gladly take some advice. One thing I noticed was that I was getting black residue on my polishing pad, which I thought meant that the car did not have a clearcoat finish. I find that hard to believe on a '94 325i.
