Unplugging the seat belt switch won't help. Neither will posting
private e-mails to a mailing list without asking.

This doesn't look good. Even the redesigned mechanical seat belt
switches are failing after a few years, or something else is the
dealers don't know about.

Do they? I wonder. The 6-throttle body conversion has been in the BMP
catalog for ages, but I've never even heard of anybody who has fitted one.

There are plenty of Euro motor conversions around.

FWIW I talked to BMP about the 6 TB conversion at the SEMA show in
November. I asked them to send me a dyno sheet which they said they
would. I am still waiting.

This morning, I saw a new C-class badged C230 Kompressor.....brand new in N.
Atlanta with drive-out tags from NC.

Did I miss the fact that they were making these somewhere along the
line????? I knew the C230 sport coupes were out there, but wasn't aware
that this powerplant was available in the sedan. If the C230 Kompressor is
avail with the 6-speed in the sedan, that might be something for me to look
into.....

C230K is now available in the sedan, based on my personal experience with
C240/6 speed, I would say this is a wonderful sedan to own. It is slightly
larger than the E46 series so that you can sit a 6 ft adult behind a 6ft
adult comfortably and I have been very happy with the 6 speed gearbox and
the rest of the car too. The only thing I did was to install C32AMG sway
bars which seemed to have worked very well to get rid of the understeer.

Rob (and others):
I just installed the Twin Silencer Exhaust, and the short shift kit, on my '96 328i.
Both were a lot harder physically to install on my garage floor in the winter than I
ever imagined! But I think I'll love both modifications. On the TSE though I am
getting a loud drone right around 2000 rpms, but no where else on the engine speed.
Last night I tried to tighten the connection between the original exhaust pipes and
the new stainless pipes. There is some corrosion built up on the old pipes (137k miles
in the snow belt). After start up, I noticed a drip of condensation coming out of one
of those joints. Does the drip mean I have still failed to get a good mating? I don't
really see how I could adjust the connections. Do you suppose the drone and drip are
related?

Thanks.

Let me get this straight. You bought a 15yo an E36 325? Has your child been
to Skippy school or the equivalent? You do realize that at the very first
opportunity to do so, the aforementioned child will explore the top speed of
the new ride, probably with a friend or two goading them on...

Good luck

Hi all, My wife & I recently bought a '92 325iS for the 15 y/o, a sweet
car and deal it was indeed, I was wondering if anyone knew of any
quality recommened online outfit, where I can check out prices, that had
nicer BMW rims than stock that would fit this car and match up more or
less with the standard rubber (Yokohamas at this time) of the cars basic
manual call. Thanks, Jay

Ummm....a Kobalt? Also, the Craftsman warranty is pretty limited, something like 90
days IIRC. I have one in my track box which works fine.

Get the Snap-On TECH2FR100 3/8" torque wrench :-)

Jay,
Is that car for your 15 (really?) y/o or YOU?
If the former, how come You are already shopping for a new set of wheels
and tires? What's wrong with the old ones?

Either way, for wheel and especially tire options look to TireRack:

I just sold the E30 325ic mirror on eBay for $15. It did fit my e36M3 but did nothing
to eliminate any blind spot as it was just as large as my existing mirror.

I purchased an adaptor from http://www.z3mirrors.com/ via the Paypal process. We'll
see what happens and how it works.

I know, but the question was about power. Anyway, I can't think of too many
times I have been drafting behind someone and thought "I wish my engine was
more responsive so I could pull around and pull off a pass." I can come up
with a lot of places the money for one of these kits could go that would
make A LOT more of a difference. 6TBs on a US engine are for nothing more
than looks.

Don,

I can't comment on the drip, but I installed a System-U on my '97 M3 a couple of years
ago. It definitely "seasoned" in sound over time, but there's still a drone around
3k. I think it's a trade-off you make when you go to a non-stock exhaust. I like the
added personality my car has and see the drone as a "fee" for it.
