That way you don't have to worry about the state of charge of the battery. Not especially speedy, but they get the job done. I bought mine at Sears a few years ago. Also includes a handy light and a 12V power outlet (charge your cell phone). I can top off my tires a couple of times over before the pressure equalizes with that in the tires. Whether or not a smaller tank would be adequate depends on how much air you're willing and able to put in the tank. "I figured I'd find something wrong, but not something staring me in the face like that," Bergman said. "This was a totally survivable crash, looking at the car. Anyone that looks at the car would say, 'Oh, my God.' It's so obvious what happened." What Bergman saw was a driver's seat that broke off its mounting and a window net that wasn't bolted to the bottom of the window. No wonder, Bergman sadly concluded, his only daughter suffered massive, fatal head injuries in a relatively low-speed (40-50 mph) driver's side impact. To him, it appears the seat came loose and thrust her against the door. And with little securing the bottom portion of the window net, her head came out of the car and hit the concrete retaining wall surrounding the half-mile oval. But I found that the small portable compressors take for-friggin'-ever to add air to a tire - not the thing you want if you're in line for another autocross run. Also, mine had a cigarette lighter plug, but would run the car battery down pretty quickly if I didn't run the engine during tire top-offs. And I remember once blowing a fuse with that thing. So instead I carry a tank of "nothing" to driving events. I pressurize my "nothing" to around 120 PSI. So besides having its own battery, is your portable compressor better than the one I used to use? I wouldn't want to inflate a tire from empty with this compressor, but for adding a few psi it works just fine. Since my support vehicle is my trunk and back seat, I find this a more practical solution than the air tank (which sits unused at home). It's definitely consumer level quality rather than race, but just fine. Cordless/rechargeable is important for quick use - no messing around with a lighter-socket cord. Fenders Might Need Rolling Hi All, Well the search seems to be over. Unless I come across a really good deal on some Mille Miglia 5 star rims and tires for my 85 535i between now and around 2pm tommorrow, I will be going over to have my new 17x7.5 TSW Blades with 225-45zr17 Dunlop SP Sport 2000 H's put on the car. When I was over at the shop today doing the preliminary fitment to ensure no rubbing on the front of the car, and we mounted the rim on the rear of the car, and saw that it wasnt rubbing, since the car is at stock height, however if I end up loading up the trunk and have 2 people in the back the tires might rub the rear fenders.. Anyone in the Toronto Area, have a fender rolling tool that I could use? or maybe someone close by? I am sure that I wont need to worry about it right away, but I want to get the fenders rolled. I suppose I will be looking at lowering the car sometime in the next 6 months as well, and stiffen up the suspension as well, but that is another venture. If anyone does have the tool, please let me know Cheers Ron J 85 535i 73 911s 2.7 ------------------------------ Date: Thu, 6 Mar 2003 20:30:33 -0500 From: "Ron J" <[EMAIL PROTECTED]> Subject: [uuc] <E28> Rims/Tires need bmw center symbol for rims..
