I have a keyless entry unit w/ one remote for sale, BTW you can program
your current remotes to work w/ any new unit. It came from a '95 M3. It
works like new. Let me know if you need to buy another.

Subject: [uuc] <e36> Replacement Remote Keyless Entry Module Suggestions

The original BMW RKE module for our '95 325i just went insane. I was lucky
to pull it from the car before it locked me in permanently.

So, I've only found the entire BMW kit as a replacement so far. At ~$400,
I'm not so eager to do this dance again.

I've found the Stellar product, BMW45P, touted as a 'plug n play' solution
for the factory functionality, but only have old info about this company. If
they haven't changed, then I wouldn't be eager to do business with them.

What are the other options out there? I'm not looking for a bunch of fancy
features, just the same functionality that the factory unit gave me.

Gosh Gary, and I'd always thought there were legions of Bavarian gnomes
stuffed into the footwells and pumping away on the pedals. Grumpy, Sneezy,
Dopey, and that hitherto unknown dwarf: Pumpy.

Neil-

I think it might have tarnished Snow White's good name if it got out
that she knew a dwarf named "Pumpy".

So, the dwarf that draws the vacuum... "Sucky"?

This will work on '88 coupes if you find the plastic bumper hardware
from the '89-91 cars. You will need the bumper cores and possibly some
mounting hardware.

Subject: [uuc] Kumho vs. Yoko for E30

I know this has probably been asked a thousand times already, but I'm looking for some
feedback on the Kumho ECSTA Supra 712 vs. the Yokohama AVS ES100 (these tire names
sure are getting long.) The Kumhos are $61 each, while the Yokos are $77 apiece for
my car, a 325iC with 15x7" wheels.

I've heard good things about the ES100s, but are they significantly better than the
ECSTAs? The car is used for enthusiastic driving on public roads in only fair
weather. If I get the Kumhos, I'll have enough money left over for sway bar links.

TIA,

Mike Kozitka

Bay Bimmerz Dyno Testing day:
This Saturday, August 9, Bay Bimmerz will be having Powerfest '03 at
Competition Autoworks in San Ramon, CA.
The fee for dyno testing is $75.00 for three runs, with fuel air
mixture meaurement available, and includes a BBQ. If you're not
familiar with dyno charges, in this area that's a great deal.
Its a great chance to dyno tune your mods, or see if what the tuner
sold you really does make the power they claimed. If its anything like
past Bay Bimmerz dyno days, there will be screaming superchargers to
drool over, along with some choking chips to know to keep far away from
your own bimmer's ECU.
See www.baybimmerz.org for info on all of the other performance
and appearance goings on that are planned or email [EMAIL PROTECTED]
to schedule your dyno slot.

See you there,

'jk

The original Pilot MXX3s on my 740i Sport weren't too bad in the rain - they
weren't superb either in the rain.

I went with the Pilot A/S (All Season) as replacements for the originals.
They are superb in the rain. They are also wearing very well.

Just my opinion,

When I replaced the Pilot MXX3s on my 740i Sport, they had about 20,000
miles on them. The front tires had pretty good tread. The rears were down
to about 4/32 of an inch. I replaced them mainly due to the fact that PF3
was coming up and I did not want to have to worry about sliding off of the
road in heavy rain (I hit rain both ways).

the Kuhmo's tend to get a little louder than normal with wear. Both will
probably last about the same. The 712's look WAY cooler too.
Not that looks have anything to do with tires :)
I happen to have a set of these on some old BBS RS 3 piece 15" wheels that
are offset perfectly for the E30's.
15X7's hold 205/50/15 really well with no rubbing or problems.
