You need a sealer, not normal bead lube, unless the leaks are caused by dirt
and trash.

Car is an '88 E30 -- steel bumpers, late-style lower valance with integrated
fogs.

Where do I hook a tow strap?

There is no screw-in receptacle in the bumper under the trim that I could
find in a dark parking lot, and no steel loops welded to the bumper mounts
like I believe the cars with the old valance used.

The car is at a grocery store less than a mile from my house -- too f@@kin'
close to call a tow truck, too far to push.

Looks like now is the time to replace that slipping clutch...

TIA.

Remove the front licence plate. The tow hook screws into the bumper behind
the licence plate holder.

There should be a cap in the bumper cover, right side (left side facing
it). Pry open the cap and you will find a threaded sleeve. You need to
screw the tow hook into the sleeve.

" It'll either kill or cure....... Fix-A-Flat? "

That had also come to mind, but I hate the sh*t. I used to work in a bike
shop and it was a rude surprise when someone's tire would ejaculate all over
you. However, in this case it might be just the ticket. I've wondered if I
would be able to swirl the stuff in the tire enough to get it into the bead
- - but I can give it a shot.

The bill I have for the tahrs is dated '96 - so they've been on there for a
while.

Hah! No brother, alas. And no, my wife does not have an *available* sister
(her sister, btw, has absolutely no interest in cars).

And, dear Donna, while it might be great fun to have someone on the side, so
to speak, I have a tough enough time keeping my wife happy ("honey, I think
we need a new set of slicks on the 355, the rear end got a bit loose when I
was cranking it up past the toe of of the boot")....

:-)

vty,

Donna, those are vicious rumors without basis. I would have no
interest in his brother.

Oh wait, you were asking for you... bad, bad, selfish me, always
thinking of my own needs before anyone else.

His brother? Nah, we all know you're just itching to ask if his sister
has poodles...
