Not the remote key fob unit, but the black box under the passenger side
dash. The brain is insane...

Yes the remote key fob unit (RKFU?) is still available at $100 each...

Thanks tho',

You'll find remotes on Ebay frequently. You can also get replacements from
places like www.remotesunlimited.com. Have you asked your dealer about a
replacement remote? I find it hard to imagine they can't get one for you.

go to autotoys.com. they sell a harness you can plug in where the original
RKE goes, and gives you wires on the other end you can connect to *any*
aftermarket alarm. Just remember, to double lock the car you have to give
+12v to the lock AND unlock triggers. I bought it for my old E36 because I
was having alarm issues, and it turned out the RKE connector was just loose.
I could look for the harness and mail it to you if you want, as I don't have
an E36 anymore.

Subject: [uuc] FS: 2001 330Ci $25k, in N. VA

Forwarding this on behalf of Barry Brown, a seasoned SCCA racer and DE
instructor. This is his daily driver/DE car.

"Every once in a while I get the notion to sell my 2001 330Ci and get an
M3. I've advertised it before, but really haven't tried very hard to sell
it because it's such a fantastic car. Well, here we go again: The car is
pristine. It now has 45K miles and is in absolutely perfect condition.
Mike Sanderhoff at BMW of Fairfax takes care of it and any & all
maintenance the car has had, Mike did it. The oil gets changed at 5500
mile intervals using only Mobil One 5W-30 (as Mike recommended). The car
is 5-speed with SP & HK. It is garage-kept and is always waxed. It is
jet black inside & out, with aluminum trim inside. It has the AutoThority
ECU upgrade, CAI, and a B&B stainless steel cat-back exhaust. It has
upgraded EVO Sport slotted front rotors. All four rotors and brake pads
are fairly new, and the car has not been tracked since the new brakes and
rotors were installed. The tires are the Bridgestone Pole Position
S-03's. The car was dyno'ed by AutoThority, after they did the mods, and
it produced 217 HP to the wheels. Truly, it is a fun car. It also has
stainless steel braided brakelines. When AuthThority did that
installation they consulted with Mike Sanderhoff to make 100% certain that
the job was done correctly. Anyway, that's the story.

Price: $25K.

After installing new calipers and brake lines I had this same problem. I
tried all the usual things you did but started to think that maybe the soft
pedal is just a "feature" of the E30.

It's a pain, but I cured it by unbolting each caliper and rotating them
while my lovely assistant pumped the pedal through Speedbleeders. Air was
definitely trapped in the nether reaches of the calipers that normal
bleeding would not dislodge.

I would also like to try bleeding the ABS, but I never got around to it. Let
me know where to jumper the relay if you find out.

I would like a good (inexpensive) source to purchase
an aluminum thermostat housing and the tool that keeps

"track-prepped"? Hon, you don't know what "requires funding" means until you go to
"race-prepped!" Have I mentioned Guido's $6000 broken valve spring?

You can get the fan took from victory tools. Use with a 32 mm thin wrench from a bike
shop.

What tool do you need? I've just used a long thin screwdriver. And
