If the car had an inspection II already, the filter should have been replaced. Service records would indicate that. I used to have a servicing business which inluded evaluating and negotiating purchases and sales. Service issues like you have here make great opportunities to close down a deal considerably in your favor. No inspection II performed makes for a nice bargaining chip. If performed, then it verifies that its not just the filter but something more $eriou$. Else would the seller be willing to change the filter so you can diagnose further? He'll probably balk, so at that point you can make an 'as is' offer reducing your previously negotiated selling price before the AC came into the discussion by twice the list cost for a dealer installed AC compressor, condensor, belt, hoses, and charge. The seller will likely offer to close the deal at _only the list cost of AC repair. Also minus the cost of the missed inspection II if it wasn't done. If you go that route, a cash deposit in hand with your preprinted bill of sale ready for signatures can help seal a deal. Otherwise there's that fictitious 'other' M3 in some nearby but far enough away large city, that has full records and good AC, and the RTABs replaced already (50k miles is as long as they safely last before risking other damage [mine went at 28k after towing a trailer], and dealer list for an RTAB job plus alignment is ~$650.), but maybe 75k on it, that you're going to buy as a second choice for several thousand less, due to its higher miles. One that's experienced with the 5HP30? One that will do all the necessary updates to bring the trans up to spec? Problem would most likely be fixed with a $600 valve body. A very common failure on the 95 and earlier 5HP30. Has Dinan Stage 1 suspension with camber plates (installed last year), 325 front brakes and Borbet 16" Type T wheels with new SO-3s......also has the stock 15" steel wheels that need tires. Engine is stock. Service book is stamped. I recently got a new 325i so I'd like to sell this ASAP; I'd like to get $5500. Group, I'm just wondering if any of you have fabricated your own floor mount adaptors to install side-mounted competition seats. My question, specifically, is to those who may have made theirs out of aluminum. Given the offset between the factory floor bolts and the seat mount - and considering the levering effect that has, upward on the floor bolts - what thickness of aluminum have people used with success? Would 1/2" be adequate or is 3/4" necessary? I don't want to use something that's going to bend if I get a 200+ lb. instructor. The aluminum that I'm talking about is 6061-T6511 (I think the 6511 part is right). For reference, VAC's plates are 3/4", but are only that thick because they're threaded holes, not thru-holes. (Thanks for the help, Tony.) Anyone BTDT? Thanks, Neil 1994 325is 1999 M3 __________________________________ Do you Yahoo!? Yahoo! You shouldn't overfill initially, since trapped air pumped through the system can displace enough coolant to make the tank overflow (ask me how I know...). It can take a while to get all the air out of the system. You're basically doing the right thing. Bleed initially using the bleed screw. However in the course of a few days of driving the system may burp some more air, and your 'low coolant' warning may come on. Top up as necessary.
