Subject: [uuc] E30 Oil Pressure Sender Adapter?

I'm looking for one that will allow the factory sensor to be retained while
also allowing me to add SPA oil pressure and temperature senders. The oil
pressure sender is pretty heavy, so the adapter should be strong.

The car is an '89 325is with an M20.

Subject: [uuc] Looking for good E28 doors.

Hi All,

A while ago, some inconsiderate fool hit the passenger side of my car and
dented both the doors, and never left me a note to tell me about it.. I
found it when I got in the car the next day..

So I need to find some good doors for my car.. front and rear passenger side
doors.. (right side) preferably grey delphen metallic so I dont have to
repaint (yet) they can be shells without glass but I prefer shells with
glass, or complete doors.. As long as they are straight and have no rust..

I also need a good front right fender (hole in the bottom part from when I
got the car)

Anyone looking to part with any of these please let me know
Cheers

Only the ones without opening.
Are there more if I crack the cluster open?

I take the temp at the hollow bolt in the oil filter head.

Dave,

While I'm sure that safety during the occasional
outboard-mix roadside fill was a consideration, it just so
happens that many European gas stations are just big
pull-offs on the shoulder of the highway. Pull up to the
pump, fill up, pay, back on the road, no parking lot or
Krispy Kremes to slow you down.

tammer <--has used a cut-open 20-oz. Pepsi bottle (rinsed
clean) as a gas funnel in a pinch, standing safely on the
curb side of the car.

Hello,

Does anyone have wiring diagram for a 92 E36 (motronic 3.1) ?
I'm trying to track down a possibly broken wire from the Idle control
solinoid.

Thanks

My wife's then, now mine, 1996 M3 was also delivered new with a dim spot at
the center of the instrument cluster.

Those three bulbs are the back light bulbs. It sounds like the center one
is burned out, which is the same one that was burned out in our car. Here
is a picture from Ron Stygar's image directory:

It is item #3 that you need to replace.

I haven't ventured inside the cluster on my e36. On the e32 there were a few
more only accessible from inside.

However, it may be moot as an earlier reply has pointed out the #3 bulb.

Unlike the E32, the E36 cluster is sold as a single unit and everything
is accessible from the outside.

Hi everyone,

Does anyone have a lug cover for a 90 e34 525i bottle cap wheel laying around?
one of mine parted company with my wheel. Don't care if it's beat up, and
will pay for it.

Failing that, does anyone have a modest set of wheels that will fit an E34?
Would love some 535i wheels or something like that. Expense wheels need not
apply. :)

Mail scanned by Symantec NAV
Well it is time to replace the 1994 325i with something bigger (family is
growing again). I am thinking either an E39 528i with 5 speed manual or
the E39 540i with six speed manual. The car would most likely be 1997
through 2000 due to financial constraints. My questions to the list are
as follows; what are the desirable options for these model years? What
are the problem areas to check when purchasing? What are the typical
maintenance items that need to be replaced? Are these cars affordable to
maintain compared to an e36? Should I be considering the sport or premium
packages? Is there a web site that can answer most of these questions?

Any help would be appreciated.

TIA

Jerry,

I don't have the answer to your questions but you might want to head over to
http://autos.groups.yahoo.com/group/bmwe39/ for a flame free friendly E39

FWIW, on My old SAAB 900 Turbo from the 80's it was SOP to pop the ball
joints to change halfshafts, and a variety of other front end
maintenance. you get pretty good at it. Those FWD cars throw all kinds of
interesting curves.. Usually popping a ball joint isn't that bad, I've had
a lot of luck with the "hit the side of it with a big ball peen hammer
mode"..usually doesn't hurt anything.

Subject: [uuc] [E36M3] Trouble with spark plugs

This weekend I set to replacing the spark plugs in my 1998 E36 M3. After much trouble
removing two of the six Bosch BMW plugs, which some technician had clearly installed
with an impact wrench, stripping the threads, I installed NGK BKR6EQUP. The NGK's are
not gap adjustable. Once I had put the NGK's in, the car barely holds an idle without
stalling, and feels as if one or perhaps even two cylinders are not firing. I drove
it around the block, and it has almost no power, and sounds like a puttering lawnmower
without a muffler. To test the plugs last night, I reinstalled the four good Boschs,
leaving two NGK's in. No real difference. I did not have time last night move the
two remaining NGK's to different cylinders to test them with different ignition wires.
I noticed that the electrode end of the NGK is a bit shorter than the Bosch's.

Any thoughts on a) what the problem is and b) how to solve it. Thanks in advance.

Are the leads from the coil to the plug in good shape? Also, on the
3.0L motor there is a ground strap near the rear of the motor. Not sure
if the 3.2 has one. If so make sure you put it back correctly when you
removed the coil assembly.
