The credit stuff in peoples forum profile is something unique to the BOINC forums and is actually one of its best features! Its excellent for a variety of reasons. Remember that people love to watch credit and stats! When i read the forums, i regularly look to see what RAC someone is clocking. Its also important to see at a glance when someone joined the project.
I would be just happy to see the persons country or flag added, i agree that the persons user ID might not be necessary but can be handy at times John.
