I saw this slowdown on an older computer with only 256MB RAM until I added more. The computers in many schools are minimum spec because there's little spare money.
I also feel great sympathy for anyone who loses their job. I admire a person who for so long made such an effort to do so much for Seti. However, the bottom line is that everyone employed in public service is a trusted guardian of the public purse. For the good reputation of Boinc and Seti I don't think David can do anything except apply the rules. The permission rule was there and it was clear. I don't think the fact that Nez was unrivalled #1 can change this situation. Should Wate have received a message of support from David because he also tried so hard and reached #7 in the ranking? I hope not. The rules apply to all of us whether we crunch on one computer or 5000. _______________________________________________ boinc_dev mailing list [email protected] http://lists.ssl.berkeley.edu/mailman/listinfo/boinc_dev To unsubscribe, visit the above URL and (near bottom of page) enter your email address.
