Hi boinc_dev, As you might have heard, BOINC is participating in this year's Google Summer of Code program, which gives out scholarships to students all over the world to spend their summer period participating in open source projects. I am very happy that my project proposal got picked this year! I will get the chance to work on porting the BOINC client to Android during my summer break.
What does that all mean? First of all, that you will hear from me from time to time on this list. And ideally, that BIONC will be running on Android devices in fall. Let's start with an introduction. My name is Joachim and I am currently studying computer & telecommunication science in Leipzig, Germany (UTC+2). I have been working with Android for a while, but I am new to BOINC and actually to open source projects in general. My GSoC mentor is David Anderson, who is therefore my official contact when I have questions regarding my work. But since open source is all about the developer community, I hope to get answers and advice also from people on this list, too. If you are interested in my GSoC proposal, you can check it out on the Google Melange website, here: http://www.google-melange.com/gsoc/project/google/gsoc2012/novar/4001 I am looking forward to coding with you! Cheers, Joachim _______________________________________________ boinc_dev mailing list [email protected] http://lists.ssl.berkeley.edu/mailman/listinfo/boinc_dev To unsubscribe, visit the above URL and (near bottom of page) enter your email address.
