Why is there no validation if the country that a user enters in his account is a valid country? The XML export is filled with bogus countries, to name a few: Mars, Idaho, madrid, valencia, Cote d\'Ivoire (notice the backslash), german etc. In addition some countries are present in different languages (Germany-Alemania, United-States-Estados Unidos) or with different spellings (Viet Nam-Vietnam, Holy See-Vatican City State-Holy See-"Holy See (Vatican City)) etc.
I have over a 100 lines of code to fix all these differences, but it keeps getting more and more, and with people entering cities as country I'll have to build a database linking cities to countries. In short: please normalize the user-input for countries, validate it before putting it in the database instead of blindly accepting what the user entered.
