But I still do not understand why the client should ask so often for new
work.
If your server has work the client downloads as much as he is configured
for. Than the client has enough work and should not blame the server
again. Other wise the server will not be able to handle the load of
hundredthousands of requests.
Even if you don't have work the clients should not ask very frequently.
The client starts in this case to ask frequently for new work. But if
there is still no work the intervals geting longer.
