And I like BOINC and the idea behind. I'd like to give help in that project - mostly as a tester. And therefore I cannot resist to ask why GIT is used for the development of BOINC instead of SVN nowadays, if - cherry picking isn't really working due to the mentioned reasons - bisecting isn't working for some peoples due to CR/LF conversation issues - the "git log" features doesn't seem to be used heavily (or why is checkin_notes still written ?) - "git describe" doesn't match the (too naive ?) expectation - eg. for the remote branch "client_release_7.0a" git delivers the string "client_release_7.0.36-129-g27e74e2" for a post-7.0.42 version. > Happy new year! > Thx, I wish all devs a Happy New Year . -- MfG/Sincerely Toralf Förster pgp finger print: 7B1A 07F4 EC82 0F90 D4C2 8936 872A E508 7DB6 9DA3 _______________________________________________ boinc_dev mailing list [email protected] http://lists.ssl.berkeley.edu/mailman/listinfo/boinc_dev To unsubscribe, visit the above URL and (near bottom of page) enter your email address.
