This is something the BOINC devs need to answer themselves. I'm all with
you; this is my take on that question:

As you know, DSCM and git offer tons of advantages over classic
centralized SCM systems and the BOINC community thus asked to migrate to
git. That migration isn't yet fully done and it certainly does take
people some time to get acquainted with all the new concepts and
possibilities git offers and to change personal workflows or even
habits. Some people are quicker than others in doing so, some are more
willing than others, some might even reject any form of change. Anyhow,
git provides a lot of opportunities to improve BOINC's SCM workflow and
quality and I expect it to do so - only time will tell how quick and how
good the adoption will be...

My hope is that the devs are open, do listen and are still willing to
learn. The more different voices they hear and the louder we are, the
higher the chances for change...
