Bram,

Did you install with 'Protected Application Execution' for both
versions?

Subject: [boinc_dev] BOINC Manager v7.x screensaver hibernates my
Windows XP PC when I resume control

Hello, and thank you for reading my post,

I recently posted "BOINC Manager v7.x seems to create Windows User
Accounts that pause my boot-up"
(http://boinc.berkeley.edu/dev/forum_thread.php?id=8155), the key parts
of which I'm reproducing below, to the BOINC Message Boards but,
unfortunately, no one has followed up there yet.

After I then contacted a Volunteer Helper with BOINC and provided some
information (also included here, farther below) that I discovered after
submitting that first post, he suggested that I post my issue here, so
here I am.

Can you please advise/assist me in trying to understand why this is
happening, and what I can do about it?

Thank you very much,
Bram Weiser

FROM THE ORIGINAL POST:

I recently upgraded my BOINC Manager v6.x (probably v6.10.60) to
v7.0.28, and now I suspect that doing so has caused some new User
Accounts to be created on my Windows (XP SP2) PC that cause my boot-up
process to pause so that I can choose which Account to log-in with.

I say all of this because:

* During boot-up, the process pauses to ask me to choose a User Account,
yet the only(!) one shown is mine. I now need to actually choose it
there in order for the boot-up to proceed.

* Going to Control Panel --> User Accounts shows that above-mentioned
Adminstrator account that's in my name along with two (2 -- boinc_master
and boinc_project, both of which are "limited accounts" and "password
protected") that are tied to BOINC.

* I haven't had a need to go into User Accounts before, so I can only
guess that v7.x created them.

FROM MY EMAIL TO THE VOLUNTEER HELPER:

Please also note that the new BOINC Manager v7.x seems to make my
computer "hibernate", thus directing me to that User Account screen I
spoke of, when I try to regain control from the screensaver.

Why would this be happening, especially when it wasn't the case with
v6.x?
