1. Apparently some files are still missing, I guess the best thing to do
is just add them to v1 and move on.  I already filtered out the SVN
migration commits from the patch set.

2. Heck if I know for certain.  Finding out the details would probably
involve taking a closer look at svn2git.  My gut says that when the
files were spontaneously brought into being in v1, svn2git looked into a
different part of the SVN database to get a copy of the whole file, and
the whole file had different content than the diff did.

Ok, those should be responsible when whole files are missing.

FYI: so far I found the following v1 commits that fixed svn/v1-migration
issues and should therefor be excluded from v2, sometimes only
partially:
