When one connects to a remote computer using RDC, the following message appears in the Boinc Event Log: "GPUs have become unusable; disabling tasks." The only way to restart the GPU tasks is to either reboot by using shutdown or, after changing a two settings in Computer Configuration --> Administrative Templates --> Windows Components --> Remote Desktop Services --> Remote Desktop Session Host using gpedit.msc, connect using VNC and restart Boinc manually. With VNC one just connects to the remote computer, performs any maintenance task, disconnects, and all is well. However, VNC for windows 7 and up has recently become $35 a pop.
Would it be possible to find out why Boinc thinks the GPUs have become unusable and change its behavior?
