Rosario swoop for Kily 21-Jul-2006
Argentinian midfielder Kily Gonzalez has returned to first club Rosario
Central on loan from Internazionale.
The 31-year-old moved to Europe over a decade ago but is returning to his
homeland for the coming season after falling out of favour at the Stadio
Giuseppe Meazza. Gonzalez began his career with Rosario Central in 1993 and
they were keen for him to return after learning of his desire to play in
Argentina next season.
Fellow former club Boca Juniors were also interested and the Argentinian
international reportedly turned down a more lucrative deal from the South
American giants to link up once again with Los Canallas.
Gonzalez is vastly experienced having played with Spanish sides Valencia and
Real Zaragoza before moving to Inter in 2003.
He has been capped 55 times for his country and represented the two-time
World Cup winners in South Korea and Japan in 2002 and at the Olympics two
years later.
Costa Rica World Cup star Paulo Wanchope also joined Rosario Central earlier
this month, with former Derby defender and the club's general manager
Horacio Carbonari thought to have played a huge role in both deals.
