Balotelli: New Contract All Done
Teenage wonderkid Mario Balotelli has confirmed that a new contract with
Inter has been agreed, and he says that he is looking forward to his
future both for club and country.
Balotelli is rated by experts as one of the best young talents in world
football, and last season he burst onto the Serie A scene with a series
of explosive displays towards the end of the campaign.
However the 17-year-old’s future with Inter had been called into
question due to problems over a new contract. The forward has come out
in the press threatening to leave the club, not only if his €60,000 a
season wages are not improved, but also if he is not given a first team
place next season.
At the weekend it was reported that these problems had been resolved,
and that Balotelli was on the verge of signing anew long-term contract,
which will see him earn €3m-a-year by the time the deal expires in 2013.
The teenager, who was born in Sicily but has Ghanaian parents, has now
confirmed that he is set to pen a new deal.
“There is an agreement for a contract renewal,” he told the Corriere
dello Sport.
“I want to thank Mancini for giving me the chance to play, but Jose
Mourinho is a great Coach and he won’t take age into consideration.
“My main objective is the Champions League and I also can’t wait to
represent Italy.
