Bronzetti Explains Ronaldinho Deal
Ernesto Bronzetti, the renowned intermediary that brought to an end the
Ronaldinho transfer saga, has spoken of his delight at the positive
conclusion of the negotiations and said that the Brazilian ace's sacrifices
were crucial.
The Roman native middle-man has a special relationship with Milan and has
been the Rossoneri's transfer market consultant for many years now.
After successfully negotiating Ronaldo's transfer from Real Madrid to the
Italian fashion capital club in 2007, he has finally realized president
Silvio Berlusconi's dream to land the former FIFA player of the year.
This morning Bronzetti revealed some details of the deal to Italian news
channel SkyTg24.
"He turned down crazy offers to come to Milan," he said.
"The day before yesterday we were pessimistic because Manchester City were
prepared to put 13m more than us on the table. It was Adriano Galliani
that persevered and convinced Barcelona's president Joan Laporta to start
new talks.
"The thing is Ronnie only thought about wearing the Rossoneri shirt and
would not even consider other sides; the turning point was when his brother
and manager, Roberto De Assis, turned up at Barca's headquarters and
rejected all the other bids, since Dinho was keen to prove himself in Serie
A.
"He could have accepted the bumper contract City were putting forward, but
gladly chose to earn much less and even forfeited 15% of the fee which he
was entitled to, according to Spanish rules.
Bronzetti also claimed that Berlusconi's desire to see the Brazilian at San
Siro was the decisive factor.
"Ronnie has always been his first choice, even when Milan were linked with
Emmanuel Adebayor or Andriy Shevchenko," he concluded.
