Hi all. I've been busy working on other things, but I'm back to
BoltWire (and I'm excited because my WikiCreole implementation
progresses, I'll post apart about it).

I've found a "pseudo bug" in tables. It's not in the code itself but
in the HTML attributes configuration: I've almost got crazy trying to
find out why colspan and rowspan didn't work in cells, while both
attributes are included in the BOLTattrs function in the library.php
file:

http://boltwire.com/index.php?p=docs.barn.library.boltattrs

The problem is that the tables markup function...

http://boltwire.com/index.php?p=docs.barn.markups.boltmtables

...does its own substitutions at the start. It changes "cols" into
"colspan", so my original "colspan" became "colspanpan" [:-)] and at
the next step it was rejected because it is not one of the allowed
attributes! Same about "rowspanpan"...

It's a funny bug, but it was a bit hard to find out. I suspect I'm the
only one using "colspan" and "rowspan". I used them because I was
porting a table already written in HTML and I kept its original
attributes just to see what happens. Of course the solution is to use
the shortcuts "cols" and "rows", but the incongruity is there...

This bug made me think again about a wished improvement: a centralized
method to config the attribute translations made by the markups. I
posted about this some weeks ago. Right now it would be very useful
for me to translate into Spanish the attributes shortcuts inside the
table markup function ("left", "right", etc, because I'm porting a
site for a person that doesn't know English). But there's no way yet
to do it without touching the core (or copying and modifying the
functions, what would bother future upgrades).

One more thougth. I had the idea to translate [h] and [r] too, because
they don't coincide with the Spanish initials. I had an idea to make
it simpler: keeping the name of the markups (t,c,h,r) in global
variables; no need to change them in many places in the code. Anyway,
I think tables are the only BoltWire markups where English is used
(with conditionals and pseudo HTML tags), what is against wiki
usability. It's not a criticism, the BoltWire tables are great and
much more powerful than the WikiCreole's. But I wonder about a way to
implement the current tables without English letters... Just thinking
loud.

Regards,
Marcos
