Recently I got this XHTML validation error about links:

-----------------------
Line 225, Column 84: an attribute value literal can occur in an
attribute specification list only after a VI delimiter.

…a/accesibilidad" title=''Información' >normas de accesibilidad</a> y
por ell

Have you forgotten the "equal" sign marking the separation between the
attribute and its declared value? Typical syntax is attribute="value".
-----------------------

You see, in the XHTML the link title has two single quotes at the
start and one single quote at the end, what causes the validation
error. Besides, only the first word of the title is included. The
source is:

[[nuestrapagina.accesibilidad|normas de accesibilidad|
title='Información sobre la accesibilidad de esta página y ayuda para
navegar']]

In the source, the title argument has single quotes. When I use double
quotes in the source, the XHTML is perfect (and it uses single
quotes).

But the XHTML single quotes causes an additional problem when the text
uses apostrophes (like English), i.e. this link in the Catalan
language:

[[http://agro-cultura.org/article.php?article=19 | Els vàters secs.
Com són i com fer-se'n un. | hreflang="ca" title="Els vàters secs. Com
són i com fer-se'n un."]]

Its title becomes this wrong XHTML:

title='Els vàters secs. Com són i com fer-se'n un.'

I could change the source:

title="Els vàters secs. Com són i com fer-se&apos;n un."

But I cannot ask the editor to use XHTML entities...

I have tried these links, with title in single quotes, in a clean
BoltWire field and the same problem occurs, so I know it has nothing
to do with my configuration files.

The complete solution would be to let both single and double quotes in
the source arguments, and use those same quotes in the XHTML, but I
think it would be difficult to implement because the quote type
(single or double) of every arg should be somehow stored. A compromise
solution would be to use double quotes in XHTML, because they are
rarely used in titles.

Anyway it seems there's a bug when single quotes are used in source
args.

Meanwhile, I have changed all single quotes in links arguments. At
last my website is XHTML 1.0 valid! I will show it to you all soon.

Cheers,
Marcos
